 Sahaabi: 'Amr Ibn Al-Jamuuh
Although he was generous by nature, Islam made him more generous so that he put all his money in the service of his religion and his brethren.
When the Battle of Uhud came, 'Amr went to the Prophet (PBUH), imploring him to permit him.
And when ‘Amr would wake up he would not find Manaaf in its place, and would keep looking for it till he found it thrown into that pit.

 Suhayl Ibn Amr
At this moment of unsurpassed compassion, nobility and greatness, all the emotions of Suhayl ibn Amr were shaken and he announced his Islam or submission to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.
Write instead you name and the name of your father." So the Prophet again conceded this and instructed Ali to write: 'This is what has been agreed upon by Muhammad the son of Abdullah and Suhayl ibn Amr.
The Prophet conceded and instructed Ali to write 'Bismika Allahumma.' He then said: "Write: 'This is what has been agreed between Muhammad the Messenger of God and Suhayl ibn Amr..." Suhayl objected: "If I had testified that you were indeed the Messenger of God, I would not be fighting you.

 "Salafi" forgeries/manipulations
Al-Kawthari pointed out that nowhere in the Qur'an and Sunna are the terms "in the seventh heaven" applied to Allah Most High nor the term "on His Throne" other than exactly as the verse of istiwa' said and that that report from Ibn al-Mubarak is therefore munkar regardless of its chain.
However, the exact words of Ibn al-Juwayni do not even mention kalam but sound more like a Sufi search for the simplest direct taste (dhawq) of faith: Ibn al-Sam`ani in Dhayl Tarikh Baghdad narrated from Abu Ja`far Muhammad ibn Abi `Ali al-Hamadhani that Imam al- Haramayn said:
The above suffices to refute any claim of a supposed consensus of the Salaf (as claimed by a modern Wahhabi) whereby they did not interpret the "coming" of Allâh Most High as His order.17

Mosque of Amr Ibn al-Aas: Founded by Amr Inb al-Aas in 642(21H), north of the site of thre Roman Fortress of Babylon, it is considered to be the earliest mosque in Egypt.
It was started at the orders of Sultan Hassan Ibn Qalawon as a mosque and madrasah to teach the four schools.
The Islamic intellectual revival, particularly in the natural sciences and philosphy, was accompanied by new styles in architecture which still developed under the various dynasties that ruled Islamic Egypt- the Omayyads, the Tpulounids, the Fatimids, the Ayyoubids, the Mamelukes, and finally the Ottomans.

The recent public row surrounding writer Ossama Anwar Okacha's criticism of Amr Ibn al-As, the man who led the Arab conquest of Egypt and its conversion to Islam nearly 14 centuries ago, was a reminder that Egyptians still have a long way to go on the difficult road to freedom of thought, expression and tolerance.

It was through him that Amr's three sons - Muawwadh, Mu'adh and Khallad - became Muslims.
He was afraid that his sons would give up the religion of their forefathers and follow the teaching of Musab ibn Umayr who, within a short space of time, had caused many to turn away from idolatry and enter the religion of Muhammad sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam.
When Mu'adh came, Amr ordered: "Let me hear an example of what this man preaches." Mu'adh recited the Faatihah (the opening chapter of the Qur'ân, which means) : "In the name of Allaah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.

As for the Haji Khalifa's saying, we can say that he is not considered as a good reference in historical matters because he died in 1657 A.D. And if the Muslims had burnt those books, other historians who lived before Haji Khalifa would have mentioned that in their books.
He met Amr who was known for encouraging science.
The conquerors burnt also the books of Persians as was told in Haji Khalifa's book "Kashful Zunoon."
