Why Is Law: Chapter 11 (c) D. Friedman (draft)
An exception to the latter right is the case where the third party could not be expected to know the trade secret was stolen and has taken actions, such as building a factory using the secret, that would leave him worse off if enjoined than if he had never received the secret.
An inventor whose invention can be used without revealing it, and who believes that it will take much more than 17 years for someone else to independently discover it, has the option of choosing secrecy instead of a patent.
An invention of only modest value may still qualify for a patent, but it may not be worth the substantial cost of getting one.

Thomas Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions
These achievements must be sufficiently unprecedented to attract an enduring group of adherents away from competing modes of scientific activity and sufficiently open-ended to leave all sorts of problems for the redefined group of practitioners (and their students) to resolve.
As is the case with discovery, a change in an existing theory that results in the invention of a new theory is also brought about by the awareness of anomaly.
A scientific revolution is a non-cumulative developmental episode in which an older paradigm is replaced in whole or in part by an incompatible new one.

An outline is an abbreviated picture of the parts of your paper or project and the order in which they will come.
An outline might be just for your own use, or your teacher may require that you hand it in while you are working on your project, so they can get an idea of where you are headed.
Use this model for a formal outline which is the type that most teachers expect to see if they ask for one.

 User interface
The outline created with the outline properties is drawn "over" a box, i.e., the outline is always on top, and doesn't influence the position or size of the box, or of any other boxes.
The 'outline' property is a shorthand property, and sets all three of 'outline-style', 'outline-width', and 'outline-color'.
Since the outline does not affect formatting (i.e., no space is left for it in the box model), it may well overlap other elements on the page.

The beginning is the, introduction containing your thesis statement; the end is the conclusion; and the middle or body of the essay contains the argument, supported by evidence or example and designed to prove your thesis.
At this stage, all you are preparing is the outline, which will take you from one end of the essay to the other, like a road map.
Make clear why one point follows another: each point in your outline should connect with the next; each main category should be linked to your thesis; and each sub-category should be linked to the main category.
