  Anaesthesiology in Russia
I realised that any statistical data on anaesthesiology were practically absent in available literature.
Accepted this fact with sadness I has decided to limit this report with the description of anaesthesiology in a large general hospital, assured that these particularities can be extrapolated on anaesthesiological service as a whole.
Since branch of anaesthesiology and intensive care are united in one department the doctors work in shifts- 3 months as anaesthesiologists and 3 months as intensivists.

 The Hellenic Society of Anaesthesiologists
In 1990 a second journal published by the Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Medicine for Northern Greece Themata of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Medicine was introduced mainly containing reviews.
Anaesthesiology, together with other specialities, forms the basic specialty for other supra-specialties like Intensive Care Medicine, with two years of training after the basic specialty diploma (since 1995) and Emergency Medicine with 400 hours of training after the Diploma of Anaesthesiology.
The Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Medicine of Northern Greece was founded in 1983 with a journal, biannual congress and many postgraduate courses
