Borel measure +------------------------------------------------------------ A Borel measure is a measure on the sigma-algebra of Borel sets.
One can say that a B-set is a set which can be obtained of not more than a countable number of operations of union and intersection of closed open sets in a topological space.
Denote by L,L^+ the set of measureable maps from a measure space (X,A,mu) to the real line (R,B), where B is the Borel sigma-algebra on R,R^+.

Analytic set - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is about analytic sets as defined in descriptive set theory.
An alternative characterization, in the specific (and important) case that X is Baire space, is that the analytic sets are precisely the projections of trees on
Analytic sets are always Lebesgue measurable (indeed, universally measurable) and have the property of Baire and the perfect set property.

The concept of an analytic set was introduced by N.N. Luzin [1].
If two analytic sets have no common irreducible components, the dimension of their intersection is strictly smaller than the dimension of each set.
For an analytic set of higher dimension this is usually not true.

Analytic Basis Set for High-Z Atomic QED Calculations: Heavy Helium-like Ions
We have implemented a quantum electrodynamics (QED) perturbation theory calculation of the ground state energy of He-like Fm, Z=100, using a relativistic Sturmian analytic basis set representation for the Coulomb-Dirac Green's function.
The required sum over all bound states, all positive energy continuum electron states in the strong Coulomb field from the nucleus, and all the negative energy continuum states of the Dirac sea is implemented with the Green function.
The form of the analytic basis set representation[1] enables the matrix elements for photon exchange to be calculated analytically.

When the topic of a set and its treatment in the LC classification schedules would result in the analytics classing in the same or close LC class numbers if they were classed separately.
If the set in hand is not an "exact match" as described in B1, more judgment needs to be exercised, especially when the volume in hand is not the volume used to catalog the source record or when the copy cataloger is adding a volume to a record cataloged from another volume in the set.
Each volume of the set is assigned a distinct call number; no cover record is created; each volume must have a distinctive title; a separate bibliographic record is created for each volume of the set.

notes on Quine's "Two Dogmas of Empiricism"
In the case of formal languages, it is not uncommon to define a formal language starting with the primitives of set theory allowing additional constants to be introduced by arbitrary conservative extensions (a conservative extension is a new axiom which leaves the interpretation of previously introduced constants unchanged).
The main purpose of this section is to repudiate the suggestion that difficulties with analyticity are due to opacity in the semantics of natural languages and don't apply to precise artificial languages.
Quine now reveals that his notion of a language does not involve the semantics of the language (and hence that his account of analyticity as a relation between a sentence and a language was defective) and observes that one could fix the problem by regarding the semantics as part of the language.

Application Development Trends - Understanding analytic applications
An analytic application is not just a bunch of reports, or an analytic tool to perform ad hoc queries or create reports.
Most analytic packages are tailored to specific functional areas, such as sales or marketing, or to applications in vertical industries, such as retail merchandising and assortment analysis.
In summary, an analytic application is a domain-specific analytic solution that integrates a diverse set of data warehousing and analytic tools that organizations previously had to painstakingly stitch together.

Such sentences define the meaning of non logical terms and thus the set of analytic statements is not equal to the set of logically true statements.
Formal space is analytic a priori; it is concerned with the formal properties of the space that is with those properties which are a logical consequence of a definite set of axioms.
As a result, the set of analytic statements which are a logical consequence of the Carnap sentence is the smallest set of analytic statements.

 Paul A. Gregory—Writing Sample
So a speaker of a given language is committed to the analytic truths of that language, and, indeed, we can adjudge what language she is speaking by discovering what sentences she takes to be analytic.
Since Carnap's conception of the analytic is language relative, in principle he need only extend his specification of the analytic sentences of a language to include the additional sentences Quine would have specified.
Analyticity promised to distinguish those sentences which are constitutive of the language from those which are part of the open expressive power of the language.

Ars Mathematica » Blog Archive » The myth of measurable sets
The one example of a nonmeasurable set anyone sees is that of Vitali, which requires the axiom of choice, so it’s tempting to believe that without the axiom of choice, every set is measurable.
Within set theory it is possible to construct sets without using the axiom of choice which are not necessarily measurable.
The complement of an analytic set (a coanalytic set) is also measurable, but the image of a coanalytic set under a continuous function in general has undecidable measurability.

 Evaluating Analytic Applications
An analytic application package is a packaged solution that enables business users to access and analyze information needed in various business processes.
This is usually the biggest surprise for those who do not conduct a detailed assessment of their needs and evaluation of the application's functionality and data.
They may decrease time to deploy analytics to your business if they match the metrics and measures your business is trying to use and get their data from your data sources.

The Analytic/Synthetic Distinction (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)
But, secondly, although the denial of a genuinely analytic claim may well be a “contradiction,” it is not clear what makes it so: there is no explicit contradiction in the thought of a married bachelor, in the way that there is in the thought of a bachelor who is not a bachelor.
As Quine (1956/76, §V) observed, in the actual practice of choosing axioms for set theory, we are left “making deliberate choices and setting them forth unaccompanied by any attempt at justification other than in terms of their elegance and convenience,” appeals to the meanings of terms be hanged (although see Boolos (1971)).
So-called “analytic” and other sentences purporting to be “known a priori” are, like the laws of logic and mathematics, comparatively central, and so are given up, if ever, only under extreme pressure from the peripheral forces of experience on the web.

Now you can say r \in S just in case there exists a real coding a tuple of reals such that each real in the tuple is an element of B, r is a rational linear combination of the reals in the tuple, and none of the reals in the tuple equals b.
Take a set K such that K+K =R, and do the usual construction, but pick elements for B from K (let r be outside the span of the part already built, write r = k1+k2, adjoin one (if enough) or both of them as new elements, repeat).
CH implies there exists a Hamel basis for which the set of all its *nonnegative* rational linear combinations is first category in the reals.

The set of reals between 0 and 1 can be represented by the set of all countably infinite sequences of 0's and 1's.
