Therefore when we say that the Lord Maitreya is the Head of the Hierarchy, we are saying that He is an exceptionally developed soul, a soul whose light is so immense that He is recognised as a great light not only upon the Earth but also in the Universe.
It is because of what the Lord Maitreya is, because of the qualities He displays and emanates, because of the principles He lives by, because of the sacrifices He makes for the Earth and so forth, that to know Him in even the smallest way is to love Him.
When the Lord Maitreya is described as the Lord of Love, it should then be understood that the Lord Maitreya embodies and emanates the Love, the second Aspect of the trinity of the Logos, to all of humanity and into all of the Earth.
