Anatoly Lebedko ( Belarusian : Анато́ль Уладзї́мїравїч Лябе́дзька; Russian : Анато́лий Влади́мирович Лебе́дько; born June 27, 1961) is a Belarusian politician and the head of the United Civic Party of Belarus.
Lebedko's strident opposition to Lukashenka led to increasingly bitter confrontations with the Belarusian authorities through the late 1990s and into the 2000s.
In particular, one of Lebedko's arrests came shortly after he had spoken on the floor of the United States Senate and at a meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in October 1999, prompting letters of protest from both bodies.

U.S. An unusally strong statement issued by the U.S. Embassy in Minsk deplored the recent actions of the Belarus KGB against Anatoly Lebedko, who was seized as he was leaving the U.S. Embassy compound on November 5.
The Belarusian KGB released Lebedko with a warning that he might be charged with treason if he persisted in meeting with foreign government officials.
Anatoly had been at the Embassy to pick up the invitation for a conference on Belarus to be held this week here in Washington.

Lebedko told Interfax that he has submitted a statement to this effect to an official with Minsk's Leninsky District Interior Affairs Department, who visited him in the hospital.
In his statement, Lebedko alleges that he was subjected to an "assault by unknown individuals," who inflicted physical injuries on him.
