Anaximander has a slightly larger companion Anaximander D, just below it, forming a peanut shape (to avoid clutter it is unlabeled, but indicated by a green dot).
The feature "B" is at the junction between Anaximander and Anaximander D. In lunar coordinates it is at approximately 53.5W/66.3N.

The effect was such that I could see, in a couple locations along the limb and terminator, crater walls that were illuminated even though the crater floor was in complete darkness.
It was so prominent that I completely missed the very prominent rille in the same crater -- despite the fact that the light was perfect for seeing it, and it's one of the most visible rilles on the entire face of the Moon.
Pythagoras is the crater with the far rim seeming to hang off the edge of the Moon.

With Rumker close to the terminator, I took this spot to be a low-rimmed, shadow filled crater at the limit of my resolution.
More likely the appearance is caused by an unusual circumstance of collapse or erosion of a single crater wall.
The high eastern wall blocks sunlight, keeping the crater floor and the inside slope of the western wall in shadow.

This young crater with a diameter of 128 km and a depth of 5000 meters is a typical example of a complex crater with terraced walls, central peaks, and a relatively flat floor full of hills.
To the east and southeast of Pythagoras lies Anaximander and J. Herschel.

At 140x (7mm ortho + 2x barlow) the poor seeing was quickly revealed: the air was really boiling violently, to the degree that even large craters like Aristarchus appeared to jump around the lunar surface, and occasionally presented as double or triple images.
I was observing from within my apartment complex, and don't doubt that much of the seeing was "local" in the form of heat rising from roofs that had baked in the sun all day.
The small crater Van Biesbroeck, which sits astride Krieger's rim, was unevenly illuminated, with the intersections of the superimposed rims shining brightly and the rest of Van Biesbroeck barely visible.
