		Limpar took off on one of his typical, enterprising runs and was hauled down in the box for a penalty, allowing Everton to get back into the game, one they would eventually win, 3-2, thus keeping their place among England's elite.
		Limpar remained at Everton until January 20, 1997, when he was sold to Birmingham City for the remainder of the season.
		Limpar was also a member of the incredibly successful 1994 side which claimed third place in the 1994 World Cup here in the United States.

		Limpar received the most flattering accolades from manager, Joe Royle, in the build-up to the 1995 FA Cup Final.
		Limpar was described as "the most skillful player on the field..." But the next season was to prove a difficult one for Royle and Limpar as the Swede repeatedly tried Joe Royle's patience with a series of desperately inconsistent displays.

		Limpar started his senior career at IF Brommapojkarna and after a successful spell at Örgryte IS, the talented winger went on to play for Switzerland's BSC Young Boys and US Cremonese in Italy.
		Limpar, who was also in Sweden's squads at the 1992 UEFA European Championship and USA 94, was capped 58 times in all for his country, scoring six goals.
		Limpar, who had always been seen as an AIK man, was criticised for his decision to sign for their rivals and in the end bowed to the pressure and returned to Brommapojkarna in the Swedish third division.

		Anders Limpar left Arsenal in March 1994 for Everton in a £1,600,000 deal.
		During 1995/96, Anders and his Everton side were denied a place in Europe by Arsenal, who beat 'The Toffees' to fifth position on the final day of the season, producing a late display in beating the already relegated Bolton Wanderers 2-1 at Highbury.
		Anders stayed at AIK Stockholm until February 1999, leaving for Colorado Rapids to play Major League Soccer in America.
