As Anders' suggests, this detracts from the simplicity of the Principles, yet it is important.
In preference to the "seed" sentence, I like Anders' "Spread humanity and life to every niche in the universe where it can thrive." To satisfy the coexistence concern, it might be useful to turn "niche" into "unoccupied niche", or to say something about coexistence or non-conflict directly.
Anders' concerns about how this is perceived are well founded, I believe, and in any case, I don't think that we would want to perceive ourselves as being in any way underhanded.

 Vinge's Reply to Comments on His Singularity
As Anders Sandberg said, it ends "all further inquiry just as Christians do with `It is the Will of God'." Many of Vinge's fans even regularly rebuke others for considering such analysis.
Anders Sandberg makes a good point that the term "singularity" can reasonably be use for in a number of different ways related to technical progress.
But I agree with Anders' analysis that such destruction would probably have little effect on the tech progress we are seeing.

This perspective lies in the careers of Nova Scotia foresters who toiled against the 'grain' of conventional practice and policy, which sacrificed both the interests of small woodlot owners and the potential for more ecologically inspired approaches to an emerging industrial model of forestry.
Of the foresters Sandberg and Clancy selected for study, only one represented the industrial interest, a useful counterpoint to the six who struggled for an ecologically informed, socially equitable forest management regime.

Malmö Melodic Rockers ACES HIGH were originally formed by the trio of guitarist Jake Sandberg, bassist Anders Johansson and keyboard player David Brandt as EYES in 1989.
Sandberg and Brandt had previously played together in a number of other bands before meeting Johansson in 1987.

Back in the days when Internet access didn't grow on trees and your correspondent had yet to own a computer of his own, I often went over to the University of Kentucky's King South library and availed myself to the use of their lovely Macintoshes.
