ANDERSON, SC — The Board of Trustees of Anderson College voted on May 20th to officially seek university status for the 94 year old institution.
There is one other Anderson University in the U.S. and in a relatively unprecedented move, Anderson College officials discussed the idea with the administration of Anderson University, a private, church-related institution in Indiana with which the proposed new Anderson University would share a common name.
Anderson was recently named by The Princeton Review as one of the 136 Best Southeastern Colleges and Universities for 2005 and was also recognized as one of America’s Best Colleges by US News and World Report.
