Andor (Andre) Lilienthal (born 5 May 1911) is a Hungarian chess grandmaster.
Lilienthal was born in Moscow to Hungarian parents and moved to Hungary at age two.
Lilienthal began a friendship with Vasily Smyslov in 1938, and was Smyslov's second in his world championship matches against Botvinnik.

He came in third behind Reuben Fine and Paul Keres at the prestigious AVRO tournament of 1938.
In 1941, he won the title of "Absolute Champion of the U.S.S.R" by winning a tournament in which he defeated Paul Keres and future World Champion Vassily Smyslov, amongst other strong Soviet grandmasters such as Isaac Boleslavsky and Andor Lilienthal.
Botvinnik continued to build on these successes and went on to hold the title of World Champion on three separate occasions (1948-57, 1958-60, 1961-63).

Both were roughly the same age and presumably would have crossed chess paths in Hungary.
(Lilienthal was an Olympian in the early thirties and Fuster apparently won the Budapester championship in 1936.

Speaking of old chess players there is also Andor Lilienthal (born 5 May 1911) who will undoubtably get obituaries as he beat legends Capablanca and Alekhine before the second world war.
Last I heard he was still in pretty good health, fairly recent photos of him show he's still built like an ox.
