New York Daily News - Home - Sex scandal that shook New York
When the Woody Allen-Mia Farrow-Soon-Yi Previn psychodrama went public in 1992, the entire city was scandalized by accusations of betrayal, incest and child abuse.
Within days of the first story, Allen was admitting he was in love with Soon-Yi, then the 21-year-old adopted daughter of Farrow and her ex-husband, André Previn.
The story burst onto the front pages that August when Allen, one of the most famous filmmakers in the world, sued Farrow, his longtime lover and collaborator, for custody of their biological son Satchel and two adopted kids, Moses and Dylan.

Encyclopedia article on Shelly Manne [EncycloZine]
Tending to link Manne with West Coast Jazz in another less than complimentary sense was the series of albums he recorded with pianist Andr Previn and with members of his groups, based on music from popular Broadway shows, movies, and television programs.
Jazz West Coast: The Los Angeles Jazz Scene of the 1950s (Quartet Books, 1986)
Despite these and numerous other influences, however, Shelly Manne's style of drumming was always his own--personal, precise, clear, and at the same time multilayered, using a very broad range of colors.

Quink Vocal Quintet artist biography - icebergradio
After moving to Hollywood, she met and married composer Andr‚ Previn in November 1959, the year in which he wrote the tune "No Words For Dory" (she had previously recorded an album of her songs with Previn and guitarist Kenny Burrell).
Although never less than interesting, her work for the label lacked the passionate lyricism of her earlier albums and by the late 70s Previn had begun to concentrate on stage work.
She signed a recording contract with the Mediarts label and released a belated successor to her 1957 debut.

 Good Boy Network
EGB is called "a play with music" and it's a genuine hybrid, balancing equally Previn's score and Stoppard's script.
But the childhood memories of Tom Stoppard and André Previn’s Every Good Boy aren’t the happy-piano-lesson variety.
By the end of EGB, the father is speaking in rhymes, the boy is singing in a waiflike, Oliver sort of voice and the audience is growing restless.

Every Good Boy Deserves Favour - Tom Stoppard
Every Good Boy Deserves Favour is an unusual collaborative piece, written by Stoppard at the behest of André Previn who then wrote the music to go along with it.
The play was written for a full orchestra, rather limiting the possibility for revivals, but Previn rescored it for a chamber orchestra and so it did enjoy some success after what had been planned simply as a one-off performance.
Every Good Boy Deserves Favour is a political play, set in the Soviet Union of that day (1977).

We offer it for your consideration, Previn at the helm of the symphony that brought the work to public attention and acclaim, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
André Previn considers the Andante in Harold Shapero’s “Symphony for Classical Orchestra” the most beautiful slow movement of any American symphony.
Haydn’s “Surprise” Symphony, the No. 94, is still capable of making an audience jump when that sudden fortissimo chord interrupts the oh-so-familiar and slumbering Andante.

In the photographs illustrating Tango Song and Dance, Anne-Sophie Mutter, now married to André Previn, looks not only radiantly beautiful, as always, but radiantly happy, and that state of mind is reflected in this light-hearted programme.
The disc's highlights are the Fauré, played with stunning brilliance and a soaring, shimmering tone, and Previn's piece, written for Mutter and premiered by her.

 CATALOG: BENNY CARTER
The company he kept, with Ben Webster and Frank Rosolino rounding out the front line, and such fellow giants as André Previn, Barney Kessel, Leroy Vinnegar, and Shelly Manne in the rhythm section (Jimmy Rowles replaces Previn on two tracks), left no doubt that this album would be a milestone in straight-ahead, small-group mainstream jazz.
The genius of Benny Carter has remained one of the music's only constants for the past eight decades; yet, given Carter's frequent absences from the spotlight, fans often needed reminders of why he is referred to by his peers as The King.
Samplings of the underrated Carter trumpet and the inclusion of two infectious originals are among the highlights.
