Very difficult to photograph...the andradites are partially gemmy, so the photo can only pick up the crystal faces when the light reflects off of them, as you are actually looking into the crystals.
Most of these are actually a little of both, as andradite and grossular form a solid solution series, with the more calcic pieces being the grossular, and the more iron rich being the andradite.
These are from a zone where the outside edges, nearest the granite contact had dark brown andradite crystals, and the inner edges, near the center of the skarn had light brown grossular garnet.
