Andrew Lintner Harris (also known as The Farmer-Statesman) (November 17, 1835 – September 13, 1915) was one of the heroes of the Battle of Gettysburg and the last Civil War general to serve as a governor in the U.S., serving as the 44th governor of Ohio.
Harris was born in Milford Township, Butler County, Ohio.
Harris served as Lieutenant Governor of Ohio three times, elected in 1892 and 1894 as the running mate of William McKinley, and again in 1904.

ANDREW L. Ohio's forty-fourth governor, Andrew L. Harris, the last of the Civil War veteran governors of Ohio, acceded to that position on the death of John M. Pattison, June 18, 1906.
Harris received a number of promotions and when his regimental commander was killed in action at Chancellorsville, he was made colonel and commander.
Harris recommended the establishment of a department of auditing and inspection and the employment of the competitive bidding principle to be applied by all state officers in purchasing supplies, but "no enactments of any note resulted."
