Andrew Leipus, India's physiotherapist, has asked to be relieved of his day-to-day duties with the national team after the home series against South Africa, which ends on Dec 2.
The Australian-born Leipus, 34, was recently offered a contract until 2007, but it is understood that he has not yet signed that, and has made a counter-proposal wherein he would still be involved with the team, but would play second fiddle to someone else who did the job on a more hands-on basis.
Leipus has suggested that the load on the physio is increasing all the time, and feels that two professionals are needed to do the job efficiently.
