Lortie has performed with the National Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Montréal Symphony, and the BBC Symphony at the London Proms; the Toronto and Atlanta symphonies; the Flemish Radio Orchestra; the orchestras of Lyon, Bordeaux, and RAI Torino; the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Spanish National Orchestra, and the Dutch Radio Symphony.
Lortie teaches at Italy’s renowned piano institute at Imola, where the school’s philosophy of exposing students to several different schools of piano playing closely matches his own.
Lortie’s most recent appearance with the Saint Louis symphony Orchestra was in March 1998.

Lortie played with fetishistic amounts of pedal in the initial section, yet his reading was alternately coolly melancholy and sweetly lyrical.
Togther, Lortie and the symphony broached the goose-stepping theme with lots of relish, with Davis keenly highlighting the jazz elements with a surprising litheness of touch.
Lortie accompanied on the obbligato piano part (originally included by you-know-who to accompany the dedicatee), and a convivial rendition it was, too.

There is the ebullient Sir Andrew Davis (as endearing on stage and off) with his child-like demeanour with the BBCSO and the very charming Janice Watson (whom I got to speak to personally on the last night) with her melodiously sonorous voice and remarkable power of declamation.
It is a refreshing and hilarious experience with Sir Andrew Davis and Janice Watson at the vocals, despite being a little outmoded for a modern Asian audience.
The left-handed virtuosity of Louis Lortie via the Piano Concerto in D for the left hand by Ravel proved that even with playing only with the left hand, an awe-inspiring performance could be created under a virtuoso.

Last Updated: Saturday, September 13th, 2003 08:55:25 AM John V. Lortie, Bemidji, Minn., using his M1 Garand rifle, fired 436-5x to capture the 100-yard service rifle match which was conducted at Itasca Gun Club in rural Coleraine Aug. 9.
First time shooter Andrew Head, St. Paul, Minn., who is now attending Itasca Community College, fired a 151-0x with the club’s M1 Garand.
Lortie, firing his 22 Johnson at 50 yards, posted 467-7x but his score again was disqualified as he required extra time to complete firing his rounds.

Nightmares in which traumatic events are re-experienced reportedly occur frequently in combat veterans with chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), although disturbing dreams also have been described in other traumatized populations.
We studied dream descriptions of subjects exposed to Hurricane Andrew, and assessed whether disturbing dreams, either those that did or those that did not represent the trauma, were associated with PTSD.
Subjects who were free of a psychiatric disorder in the 6 months prior to the hurricane (N=59) were recruited from the area most heavily damaged.

We came by the divesite in the morning but the weather was pretty miserable so we continue on a road tour of the lake, heading on up to Emerald Bay.

Andrew Read of Pan Tilt Studios converted Barney Bayliss' (the COC's Rhino 3D modeler) 3D model of the set and Edinburgh Playhouse and merged it with Alain Lortie's (the Lighting Designer) original plot on behalf of The CAST Group, Inc.
The model was then used over a period of three days at The CAST Group Inc. 's studio to completley visualize the design of the show for the remount.
