Andritsaina (Greek: Ανδρίτσαινα), also Andritsena is a community and a municipality located in the southeastern part of the Ilia Prefecture in the middle of a highway, officially and unofficially GR-76 between Krestena and Megalopoli.
The community has a school, a gymnasium, a church, a library (Nikolopoulios Library) and a (plateia) with a statue and a tree which runs near the main highway.
The area west of Andritsaina is mainly grassy and bushy.

The Temple of the Epicurean Apollo was built in the honour of god Apollo who assisted ('Epicurean' in ancient Greek means 'he who assisted') and saved the residents of Figalia from a plague epidemic that had devastated the region during the Peloponnesean Wars.
Other religious monuments worth visiting are the church of St. Nicholas, which overlooks the main square of Pyrgos, the church of the Assumption of the Virgin (Panaghia the Catholic) in Gastouni, one of the finest examples of Byzantine art, as well as the churches of Andritsaina, which date from the 15th and 16th centuries.
Of great historical importance, the Library of Andritsaina, was established in 1840 featuring valuable rare editions, significant documents and a remarkable archaeological collection of finds from the surrounding areas.

From Ancient Olympia to the Panathinaiko Stadium, on the first leg of the Greek torch relay route, the Flame will pass through the Central and Southern Peloponnese (Ileia, Messinia, Lakonia, Arkadia, and the Argolida), and the islands of the Saronic Gulf (Spetses, Hydra, Poros, Salamina, and Aigina).
It will make an overnight stop in the towns of Andritsaina, Pylos, Kalamata, Gytheio, Tripoli, and Ancient Epidaurus, ere reaching the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens.
There it will remain until early June, when it sets off on the second leg of its long journey — a truly international one, for the first time in the history of the Olympic Games - visiting 33 cities on all the continents of the globe.

The ancient Vasses, 15 km to the south of Andritsaina, where the temple of Apollo looms up in a wild atmosphere, an elevation of 1130 m.
It was constructed by Iktinos, the architect of Parthenon, and dates back to 420 - 400 B.C. It was built on the site of another temple by the inhabitants of Figalia.
Near the village Platiana, in the Northwest of Andritsaina, there are remnants of ancient Aepius.

This would give me a chance to ride on a road I hadn't used before, plus I would make a detour to visit the Temple of "Epicourios" Apollo in Vasses.
That road up until Andritsaina unfortunately was narrow, with continuous sharp turns and in bad condition.
I reach the village and take the detour road to the Temple.

 University Theatre - Past Editions
International Meeting of University Theatre in Olympia was held from July 27 to August 3, 2002.

Can anyone recommend a good map store in Athens where I can get a detailed map of the Arkadia region?
I will be driving from Nafplio to Tripoli and from there a winding drive to and through Dimitsana Δημητσανα, Stemnitsa Στεμνιτσα, Elleniko Ελληνικo, Karitaina Καριταινα, Andritsaina Ανδριτσανα, Vasses Βασσες - Ναός Επικουρίου Απόλλωνος, Kallithea Καλλιθεα, Platiana Πλατιανα, Krestena Κρεστενα; and into Olympia Ολυμπια.
I have the Michelin map of Greece, but it is not detailed enough.
