 DVD Times - Android
Android is one of those treasures, a film which is so charming and disarmingly intelligent that it makes up for all the hours you’ve spent sifting through the dross.
Android was released in the UK in 1982 shortly after Blade Runner, a film to which it bears some resemblance.
Both films are essentially about the basic differences between androids and humans and both deal with the extent to which an android is capable of having an awareness of self.

Bishop explains in the film that he has aprogram forbidding him to harm a human by action or inaction but if given an order, he must follow it.
Not to mention, since he is an android, it is likely the facehuggers would sense this and not attack him.
Although there is no proof of this in the film, there is a scene that was cut which shows Ripley encountering Burke while searching for Newt near the end of the film.

ANDROID was filmed on sets left over from Roger Corman's BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS (he was also executive producer on ANDROID).
Eventually Keller begins to suspect and finally uncovers that Max is an android and mentions this and the Munich syndrome to Mendes.
Mendes then points out he had heard about this historical Munich Rampage—it was said that Androids of the 404 series went crazy, killing the men and raping the women.

Lance Henriksen, who plays billionaire industrialist Charles Bishop Weyland in the upcoming franchise hybrid film Alien vs. Predator, told SCI FI Wire that director Paul W.S. Anderson wrote the role specifically for him, as a nod to the previous Alien films.

The real film now opens with the completion of Androids #14 and #15, who attack Son Gokū while he is shopping with Chi-Chi and Son Gohan.
As Androids #13, #14 and #15 are ultimately destroyed, Dr. Gero's spirit computer shuts down for good, while still shouting the words "Gokū must die!".
Just when the fight seems won, Android #13 shows off his "Super" form by absorbing two components of each of the other Androids, changing the battle's outcome yet again.

But for me, the film was less of a narrative than an attempt to capture a mood, a feeling - a feeling of trying to recapture that lost love.
Id like a repeat viewing to maybe reveal the exact details of the plot - but i'm worried in case it reveals the movie to be as shallow as it is beautiful, sort of like sex with an android might be.
The sex scenes too are a little disturbing, and half-way through the film Viggo begins to morph into the archetypal Cronenberg leading-man, a sweaty, hollow-eyed man with Cronenberg's own hair.

Alien 3 - Review by Scott Daniel Crittenden - rating : 7 - Insomniac Mania
Lance Henriksen's brief return as the voice of Bishop is a nice throwback to the superior previous film, but the surprise second cameo at the end as Bishops creator kid of ruins the Bishop android character.
Ok, so we know it’s NOT the Bishop android, but it makes you wonder whether Bishop android could have actually been programmed by its creator to eventually try to grab a specimen instead.
Personally I think a reappearance of Holm in an un credited appearance as the scientist who created the android from the original would have been way more rewarding, and have a lot better surprise value, especially if it had been un credited.

When the director yelled cut, I planted a kiss on the Alien!” While Sanaa Lathan was cast late in the process, Lance Henriksen, whose Charles Bishop Weyland provides a critical piece of connective tissue to the Alien film franchise, was the very first to join the AVP ensemble.
Says Anderson: “Weyland made his money in high tech industries and he is the father of modern robotics, so when the Bishop android is created 150 years later [in the timeframe of “Aliens”], it’s in the image of his maker.”
While establishing this new mythology, Anderson created an important character and casting connection with the Alien film franchise.

It's a "killer-android-on-the-loose" film, which is actually one of our favorite mini-genres, despite the fact that so many of these movies are so terrible.
Screamers is a small budget sci-fi film which managed to open and close last year without anyone noticing.
Screamers uses the "sometimes they can see you, and sometimes they can't" plot point to great advantage.

 ChatTimes Movie Reviews: "Screamers"
Texan Peter Weller, long associated with films that challenge the status quo, top-lines the picture as a futuristic military honcho who, fed up with escalating atrocities in a seemingly endless war, undertakes to negotiate a separate peace as a free agent.
Christian Duguay's "Screamers" is an epic science-fantasy chiller, ferocious as a renegade mutant android and probably too prophetic for comfort.
None of that whiny "world he never made" hogwash: The role is classic-manner film noir, minus the traditional fedora and overcoat, and Weller's confrontation with his misdeeds, magnified, is right up there with his unnerving contributions to "Firstborn" (1984) and "Naked Lunch" (1991).

Empire Film 2000 top 10 films
The film has developed a significant cult following, though some critics had problems with Ford's wooden, cliched voice-over and a tacked-on hopeful ending which presents his point-of-view as he soars over a rural paradise accompanied by his android lover (Sean Young).
Generally referred to as a seagoing "Dead Poets Society", the film featured a young, attractive, mostly male cast in a story of privileged students forced to mature on an exclusive floating prep school.
Relying on many conventions of the buddy-road film, Scott, screenwriter Callie Khouri and stars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis angered (mostly male) and delighted (mostly female) viewers by putting the women squarely in charge.

However, the most significant Avengers recruit of the late ‘60s was the Vision (a member as of AVENGERS #58), a red-skinned android (or “synthezoid,” as writer Roy Thomas termed him, as a “synthetic human”) originally created by the Avengers’ hated foe Ultron to destroy the Avengers from within.
AVENGERS #137 saw the introduction of two new members: the haughty psychic Moondragon, who would wind up causing more trouble over the years than many of the Avengers’ foes, and former X-Man Henry McCoy, a.k.a.
The Vision’s striving toward humanity acts as a reminder of just what The Avengers are fighting for, and his courtship and eventual marriage to the Scarlet Witch (who balanced out the team’s scientific emphasis with her sorcerous nature) gave the series some much-needed romance and a sense of family.

The film also continues a suggestion in the film that in the future sexual orientation and gender identity would be non-issues.
At the opening of the film, Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the only human survivor of the Nostromo, is rescued from space and revived after fifty-seven years in hypersleep.
The story adds much to the overall mythos of the series, including Cameron's introduction of an insect-like social structure and life cycle, is notable for its portrayal of women in action roles, and also re-introduces the concept of an android character, however this time in a sympathetic role.
