Sapkowski doesn’t deny that his work was influenced by some of the genre’s great classics andndash; such as the work of Tolkien as well as European myths and legends, especially the Arthurian legends.
However, Sapkowski’s work as a whole is completely unique - from the point of view of its language, humour and fresh approach to the fantasy genre.
We are convinced that the world known from Sapkowski’s books is so universal that it should perform well in both Eastern as well as Western Europe and in the USA or in any other part of the world.

Michael, the reason why people defend the word witcher so much is because the original wiedzmin originates from the word wiedzma which simply mean witch.
Male versions of witch do exist in Polish as well (czarodziej, czarownik, czarnoksieznik, mag) but Sapkowski decided to create a new word using witch as its basis.
And I think in this situation the last word must say Andrzej Sapkowski.
