Oasis (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-01)
Oasis are a best-selling rock and roll Britpop band, originally from Manchester, England.
Oasis returned to recording their second album in Wales, and soon haf their first UK #1 with the first release from the album, "Some Might Say" (notably the only track with McCaroll's drumming), in early May 1995.
The background to the feud was simple: Oasis were the tub-thumping, unwashed people's band from the North of England, while Blur were by contrast a bunch of foppish, 'Mockney' art-school graduates from the outskirts of London in the South of England.

But bassist Andy Bell, who joined the band in 2000, says the bad boy label on him personally couldn't be further from the truth.
Bell speaks of Noel's songwriting talent in high regard, and sees him as having a principal role in the band, as ultimately, it's Noel that decides the final outcome on how a song turns out.

Bio: The soaring falsetto of Andy Bell combined with the infectious electronic melodies of Vince Clarke to position Erasure among the most commercially successful techno-pop acts of their era.
Bell's powerful rendition of "Who Needs Love Like That?" so impressed Clarke that Erasure was formed on the spot, and months later the same song became the duo's debut single.
One of the first openly gay stars in pop, Bell's gender-bending flamboyance and high-pitched vocals proved the perfect complement to Clarke's moody persona and buoyant popcraft.
