 The Barrow-Downs
Often also named drakes (Old English), worms or wyrms there, dragons in Middle-Earth, are, however, exclusively evil creatures; created or bred by Morgoth, the primeval Dark Lord, in the pits of Angband in the First Age.
The few dragons who survived the War of Wrath and the downfall of Morgoth and his stronghold, removed to scarcely inhabitated regions in the north and north-east of Middle-Earth.
In order to slay a dragon in Middle-Earth, it needed a wretched hero, bound to and chosen by fate, armed with a legacy, magic weaponry and not seldom a fey spirit, who would face the beast alone, often meeting his own doom in the encounter.

Werewolf (Middle-earth) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Middle-earth werewolves were not shapeshifters like the werewolves of European mythology — they were always in the form of beasts.
The first werewolf was Draugluin, and the greatest werewolf was Carcharoth, the guardian of Angband, a descendant of Draugluin as all other werewolves were.
The name werewolf appears to have been chosen because they were in essence sentient (but evil), and thus had a status beyond that of normal wolves.

 Glaurung -
He was bred by Morgoth from some unknown stock and was the first dragon to appear outside of Angband.
Glaurung was a very powerful and cunning dragon, and he at times used his abilities to achieve his desired ends without resorting to direct physical violence (at which he was equally proficient).
It is likely that he is the dragon that appears in Tolkien's poem "The Hoard" in The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, which seems to be based on the events at Nargothrond.

How come Fëanor left them behind when he pursued Morgoth into Middle Earth - it is strange that he would do so,taking into consideration how much he loved the work of his hands?
