The Grand Canyon of Arizona: How to See It - Chapter XI
The road now enters a narrow defile known as the Bright Angel Wash, giving one a fine opportunity to learn the singular drainage system of the Canyon plateau, which, as has been explained elsewhere, is away from the Canyon for many miles.
Midway between Bass Station and Bass Camp, ten miles each way, the road passes a United States Geological Survey monument, which records the fact that here the plateau is six thousand three hundred and seventy-two feet above sea level.
A little further on, the Canyon widens somewhat, and a rude meadow, occasionally filled with rich and luscious natural grass, is crossed, after which the road makes a slight ascent to the plateau, and more open country is reached.

 Enfield Cycle News October-November 2001
Cycle lockers will soon be installed at Edmonton Green Railway Station, offering commuters the chance to "park and ride".
Studies show roads with over 50 cyclists an hour are inherently safer for cyclists, because of a combination of cyclist's traffic calming effect and increased awareness of the likely presence of cyclists.
We have had considerable input to this project over the past two years, successfully seeing off proposals for five mini-roundabouts on Montagu Road (these will now be raised junctions instead), one-way streets and a badly designed cycle track on Town Road (which will have better traffic calming instead).
