Anjelica Huston , Celebrity profile, bio, biography
Although Anjelica Huston's father didn't really want her to be an actress, he gave her substantial roles in his films Sinful Davy and A Walk With Love and Death (both 1969).
Anjelica Huston did little movie work during the '70s, choosing instead to pursue a successful, albeit short-term, career as a model before returning to films with a vengeance in the '80s, diligently studying with famed drama coach Peggy Feury.
In addition to her work on film, Anjelica Huston accumulated an impressive roster of television credits during the 1980s and '90s, including her powerful performances as frontier woman Clara Allen in the 1989 miniseries Lonesome Dove and the beleaguered mother of an autistic child in the two-part Family Pictures (1993).

The Examiner - News From Ireland - 14, December, 1999
Huston’s 10 year absence from the movie business is something she now recognises as a crucial step in finding her own voice when she says, "you do need time to assess who you are, and what you’re good at".
When Huston returned to acting, she scored a major breakthrough in 1985 with Prizzi’s Honor, under the direction of her father and opposite her long time lover, Jack Nicholson.
That Huston need no longer worry about being in the shadow of her father, is reflective of her own stature as an actress today.

 Reviews - Agnes Browne
Angelica Huston's directorial debut is a family drama set in Dublin in the 1960's.
Huston plays the title role of Agnes, a mother of seven children who has to borrow money from the local loan shark (Ray Winstone) in order to be able to bury her recently divorced husband.
Certainly when Tom Jones makes an appearance in the film at a concert in Dublin is a high point, even if there is no attempt to make him appear to be only 27 again Also the rapport between Agnes and her best friend Marion (Marion O'Dwyer) are excellently bawdy as befits both characters.

 Agnes Browne
Dublin in the early 1960s: a recently widowed street trader (Angelica Huston) faces the challenges of life as a lone parent, including dealings with a local loan shark (Ray Winstone) and the amorous advances of a Frenchman (Arno Chevrier), but finds solace in her friendship with a fellow trader (Marion O'Dwyer).
Huston herself tries hard, but she is far too beautiful and glamourous to carry the role.
As director, Huston attempts to turn the whole thing into a story of female liberation and self-discovery, and does so, but the plot, characterisation, and dialogue are far too obvious to be effective.
