Flight deck - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The flight deck of an aircraft carrier is the surface from which its aircraft take off and land, essentially a miniature airfield at sea.
Landing an aircraft on an aircraft carrier was made possible thought the use of arresting cables installed on the flight deck and a tailhook installed on the aircraft.
Later the flight deck was designed into the carrier hull, becoming a structural element (a move necessitated by the ever-increasing size of the ships, from the 13,000 ton USS Langley (CV-1) in 1922 to over a hundred thousand tons in the latest Nimitz-class carriers), and later still, were made of steel.

Flight Ops are sometimes interrupted by unforeseen circumstances that requires a fast, yet safe reorganization of the flight deck to make unscheduled launches or recoveries.

HMS Ark Royal (R09) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
When commissioned, she had a 5.5° partially-angled flight deck, 2 steam catapults capable of launching aircraft weighing up to 30,000 pounds (14,000 kg), a deck-edge lift on the port side, modified armament, and the new mirror landing system.
Her flight deck as built was 800 feet (240 m) long by 112 feet (34 m) wide.
From March 1967 to February 1970, she underwent her final major refit, whicn included an 8.5° angled flight deck, new catapults taking her up to three, and arresting gear, a new island, and a partially new electronic suite (some of her original radars were retained).

Please note that the profile of the flight deck assembly is lower that that of the studio set because of the floor positioning with respect to the central seam line.
Since these computer decks have a lower profile than their full-size counterparts anyway, the obvious solution is simply to remove them in the same manner as that of the seats, build up base supports from layers of plastic sheet, and reassemble each piece.
If you choose to fill in the flight deck beams with trimmed pieces of plastic sheet, consider extending them out past the edges of the supplied parts in order to fill in any gap which may be present between the beams and the edges of the viewport.
