The realm of Angmar; the realm of the Witch-king, was lying in the Mountains of Angmar and the foothills and highlands on both sides of the mountains and between the mountains and the Ettenmoors in Eriador, the capitol was Carn Dûm.
The Lord of the land Angmar was known as the Witch-king but later it became clear it was indeed the chief of the Ringwraiths who had come North to take advantage of the disunion of the Dúnedains and destroy them.
The realm of Angmar ended in the Third age year 1975 where the Witch-king was utterly defeated by a united force from Lindon and Rivendel, Gondor and the few remaining Dúnedains and even a small company hobbit-archers.

The Folk of Angmar   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
For the folk of Angmar we know only their territory and some of their history; we do not have one word that we know belongs to their language.
There are very few references to the folk of Angmar and we hear of them only in relation to conflict with the Dunedain, after they had had come under the malevolent rule of the Lord of the Nazgul.
This is a very broad remark but could suggest that five centuries of rule and settlement by the tribes of Angmar meant the assimilation of the native Hillmen and the disappearance of their distinct culture (which had not happened under the rule of the thinly settled Dunedain).

In the early days of Angmar, the Witch-king sent forces North to "collect" the remnants of an evil race that was long believed destroyed, but which Sauron's far-seeing eye spied in the ruins of the Northern Waste.
The smiths of Angmar outfitted them with powerful arms and armor, and they became Angmar's most devastating fighters, set at the front of Angmar's armies like the sharp edge of a blade.
With Angmar's forces scattered, the Gorthorogs retreated to the dark places of that fallen kingdom, which were to them much like the cracks and shadows in the North where they once dwelt.

Angmar is a band from Kajaani, Finland, that released a demo called "Valonsurma" back in late 1997.
The band recorded and mixed this album entirely on their own and this, in combination with the fact that they actually wanted a raw and primal sound, results in a production that could have been a little better to please my ears more.
The music isn't exactly groundbreaking or original but Angmar is still a pretty good band with lots of energy and varied riffs, making this a release worth checking out for fans of extreme metal who don't mind that the production is far from being perfect.
