 | | The lakeshore town of Angono, Rizal, recently marked the twin celebration of the “Higantes” festival and the feast of Saint Clement. |
 | | The fiesta was highlighted by a thanksgiving Mass, a fluvial procession at the Laguna Lake in honor of Saint Clement, patron saint of fisherfolk, followed by the parade of the parejadoras, or girls mimicking the paddling movement of fishermen to the music of marching bands. |
 | | The town is also home to the Petroglyphs, situated in a rock formation on the hilltops of Angono, believed to be the oldest form of art placed at 4,000 years old, considered one of the world’s endangered sites, according to the Unesco. |
