		Angst was probably first discussed in relation to contemporary music in the mid to late 1980s and 1990s.
		In the 1980s "teen angst" was expressed in music to a certain extent in the rise of punk, post punk, and Alternative music with bands such as The Smiths.

		the recording quality of this album was still not at its most powerful or clearest signal and it seemed to take a little away from its intent and authority.
		KMFDM had a underground cult of worshippers, but it wasn't until the breakthrough album, 'angst' that they began to tap into the mainstream.

		The first impression you get from the album is that it's meant to be heard as a album, from start to end, as opposed to a collection of independent songs, which is a good thing.
		Not that the album is devoid of hate, as the opening opus is dripping with venom, however there is even in this track an underlaying feeling of hope that parlays into more mellow, ambient tracks.
		Also littering this album are various new-age theology, such as Parabol[a]'s chorus "We are eternal all this pain is an illusion." In fact, this album has something of a preachy feel, almost like he's trying to get everyone to believe what he does.

		The album is best enjoyed loud through headphones or when blown over your estate 5 times in a row during house cleaning.
		I thought that it was going to be difficult for John to do a better album that the Japan one, or a better song than "Air Miles" (what a masterpiece!), but listen to "Techno For Two" and you will be sure that there's nothing impossible for John.
		The material on this album is in my opinion some of the best I have ever heard from an artist and from JT in particular.

		John Gossard, the genius behind San Francisco's Weakling, unquestionably (at least around Maelstrom HQ) one of the greatest fl metal bands EVER, is noted for having said that "fl metal is supposed to be boring." There's a lot of truth to that.
		Much of the music is very simple and progresses in an equally simple manner, but it is the delivery and thickness and stagnation of the chords that make it effective.
		So Shining ends up being a reasonably good album in its tedium, but not nearly as good as the version Silencer does.

		Although considered by most critics and fans to be her worst album, it was the one that made me a fan of hers.
		Their music can be heard by everyone and even though this particular album was imported from overseas and didnt make it very big in the US its still one of my favorite albums of all time.

		In his own words from the sleeve notes, "Family inspired me to create a piece that not only described the pain, but also the lasting legacy of love, and the promise of eternal life." I think it is fair to say he has managed to do it.
		However, don't go thinking this is a miserable angst album, for it is not; the content has a pleasant, peaceful feel to it.

		i just noticed that naive, angst and money have been rereleased in the excellent kmfdm classics series.
		KMFDM are rereleasing all their old albums (Wax Trax) in the order they where originaly released.
		I've never seen the reissues as low as $11.50-- the stores here have them for $17 CAD each, which is about $14.90 USD.
