Angula, who resigned last week from cabinet and parliament, in an interview with New Era said he felt that a great deal of injustice was done to him and some other senior Swapo cadres during the process.
Angula, who did not make it to the next parliament, said that during the Electoral College there was a lot of name-calling and the process turned out to be a competition between enemies and not comrades.
Angula acknowledged that being out of parliament is his lowest point in his political career but he still believed there was a bright future for him in Swapo.

Angula is an educationalist who, as Swapo’s Secretary for Education and Culture between 1982 and 1989, was at the heart of planning Namibia’s post-independence education system.
Angula’s forthrightness may prove to be a double-edged sword for his own presidential ambitions – while in some Swapo quarters he is seen as the most open-minded of the candidates, to others, schooled in Swapo’s traditionally closed way of dealing with internal issues, he may be viewed as too unpredictable.
Angula has criticised the University of Namibia for “uncontrolled and unplanned growth” (Higher Education’s subsidy to Unam has increased by 293% since 1996/97), but has not directly intervened to ensure his Ministry’s money is better spent.

Angula is in Viet Nam for six days to sign an agreement on agricultural co-operation.
