John Angus MacInnis was born on a farm in Mira, Cape Breton Island, on June 22, 1886, to Scottish parents.
As Moderator, Dr. MacInnis, with his wife, had the honour of representing the Presbyterian Church in Canada at the coronation of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, in 1953.
Recognizing the high esteem in which Dr. MacInnis was held, and in grateful memory, at his death in 1964, the congregation established a memorial bursary in his name for the encouragement of students training for Christian service.

Angus Macinnis, a senior associate in the Sydney office of Dibbs Abbott Stillman, is not one of them.
Macinnis took part in several mooting competitions as a student, and in about 2000, a few new moots were being set up in various areas of law and coaches were needed for a new wave of budding competitors.
Subsequently, Macinnis secured coaching roles in the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Competition; the Sir Harry Gibbs National Mooting Competition (in which he coached the champion UTS teams in 2004 and 2005); and this year, the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, which is held annually in Vienna.

 Bite Back
Not delighted would appear to include some of the hundreds of Liberal volunteer campaign workers who claim to have done the grunt work of raising the money, putting up the signs, and talking to the voters of this East-end Vancouver riding with a left-wing political tradition dating back to the CCF's Angus MacInnis.
Angus sat in the Commons with J.S. Woodsworth himself and married Grace, the boss's daughter, who herself went on to become MP for Vancouver KIngsway and President of the BC NDP.
Other not-so-happy campers would be some of the thousands of NDP types who got conned into voting LIberal "strategically" to stop the dreaded Conservative menace.

 Dominion of Canada FAQ
It is very likely that the entire story of Leonard Tilley pouring over his bible is simply a patriotic fable that has been invented over time.
In rebuking the story of Brooks, CCF member Angus MacInnis said the following:
As MacInnis mentioned in the above passage, several other self-governing colonies of the British Empire were considered dominions equal in status to Canada.
