  Angus Maude - Encyclopedia, History, Geography and Biography
Angus Maude, Baron Maude (8 September, 1912 - 9 November, 1993), was a Conservative politician and British cabinet member from 1979 until 1981.
Maude was shadow aviation spokesman, but was sacked in 1967 by Edward Heath after criticising party policy.
Maude gave up his seat at the 1983 UK general election, and was elevated to the House of Lords as Baron Maude of Stratford-on-Avon later that year.

Maude in the course of his research made a particular study of the literature left by beachcombers, a group who were a significant feature of European presence in the Pacific from the late 18th century to the mid-19th.
Maude himself saw the war only at a remove, for he had left the Gilbert Islands in 1940 on a commission to undertake the administrative reorganisation of Pitcairn and was not able to return until 1945.

The Right Honourable Francis Anthony Aylmer Maude (born July 4, 1953) is a British politician, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Horsham, Chairman of the Conservative Party and a member of the Privy Council.
Francis Maude was MP for North Warwickshire from 1983 to 1992, serving as a junior minister in a variety of posts until he lost his seat at the 1992 general election to Labour candidate Mike O'Brien.
Maude worked in banking as Managing Director of Morgan Stanley and Co Ltd while outside parliament, but returned to politics, and was elected in the 1997 general election to the different and safer seat of Horsham.
