 Animal Behaviour
Animals still retain the instinctual, wild behaviours of their ancestors, even though they have been domesticated over time, and their relationship with humans has become closer and more dependent.
For instance, if the dog is stimulated by animals or people passing by the property, then replacing a slat fence with a solid fence or rehousing the dog in to a more secluded area, such as the back yard may be beneficial.
Such behaviour may have a physical cause, such as old age or hormonal incontinence, constipation, cystitis, arthritis, or pain, and it is important to have this checked out.

 BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour Science
Studies within Animal Science and Welfare increase understanding of animal behaviour, welfare, management and conservation and this in turn may provide practical solutions to many of the challenges experienced by those who work with animals in whatever setting.
During the course students will develop an understanding of how animals work (their anatomy, physiology and biochemistry), of how behaviour develops via the interaction between genes and the environment and of the selection pressures that have operated in the past to produce the behavioural repertoires we see today.
During her studies at Lincoln, Lindsay received funding from the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, to study the behaviour of seaweed-eating sheep on North Ronaldsay and held scholarships from both the Nuffield Foundation and UFAW to study the DNA of ancient cattle and heifer behaviour respectively.

Pet rabbits: Animal behaviour and problems. Ethologist Dr. Tiger gives information and advice.
Most of the abnormal behaviour patterns, like for instance gnawing at grilles and gratings or biting the pet owners, are exclusively the result of keeping the animals in ways not appropriate to their species.
Animals of the same species are thus warned and can disappear in their hiding place as quick as a flash.
Furthermore, for reasons of territorial behaviour the animals deposit their droppings and urine and can also have an accident as a result of rash fright reactions and getaway behaviour.

Lek (animal behaviour) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A lek is a gathering of males of certain species of animal for the purposes of competitive mating display, held before and during the breeding season, day after day.
However it is also shown by birds of other families, such as the Ruff, Great Snipe, Musk Ducks, Hermit hummingbirds, Manakins, birds of paradise and the Kakapo, by some mammals such as the Uganda kob (a waterbuck) and by some species of fish and even insects like the midge and the Ghost Moth.
There is some dispute among ethologists as to whether the lekking behaviour shown by animals of widely different groups should really be treated as the same, and in particular whether similar selective pressures have led to their emergence.

The American approach to animal behaviour has its roots in the work of J.B. Watson who in 1924 laid the foundation for an experimental approach to the study of behaviour in his book 'Behaviourism'.
