Hanami Gumi Resources - Commercially Translated Manga - Animerica Extra Magazine
When I learned that Viz had licensed the manga for my favorite series, Fushigi Yuugi, I was intrigued that they were planning to serialize it in their new monthly magazine, Animerica Extra, along with several other series.
Animerica Extra, however, was aimed at the high school and college crowd and contained several series that I was interested in.
Animerica Extra's sister magazine is Animerica, which has articles, reviews, and news about manga and anime in the US and in Japan.

Extra was a collection of several different translated manga, or Japanese comics.
Where Extra was primarily manga-oriented, Animerica is mostly anime-oriented --that is, Animerica focuses on Japanese animation, especially that which has been translated into English.

Video Girl Ai - Anime Academy Lounge
Ai is printed in Animerica Extra, where it, Steam Detectives, and Marionette Generation get the fewest pages each month ((sometimes they're lucky to reach 15 pages each)), which would explain why it's been over a year and a half since the last Steam Detectives graphic novel hit the shelves.
To put it bluntly, it's supply and demand, Viz releases a new graphic novel everytime an Animerica Extra title reaches at least 180 more pages.
Where as Fushigi Yuugi and Utena recieve a monsterous number of pages each month, the count that Ai recieves is miniscule and insignifigant in comparison.
