  Animositisomina - PastryWiz UK Music
Animositisomina bursts forth from the gate with 'Animosity', a punishing diatribe against intolerance that welds mind-numbingly forceful shards of sound with unholy--and utterly disturbing--slashes of pure noise.
The title track, Animositisomina, is an absolute belter, and immediately ranks among their very best songs, and the album continues on that level of quality.
Animositisomina is not a return to the original industrial sound of Land of Rape and Honey, Psalm 69 and Mind is a Terrible Thing To Taste.

Plan 9 Music: Album: Ministry - Animositisomina
ANIMOSITISOMINA marks the band's first new material on Sanctuary Records and a return to their earlier straightforward sound.
Gone are the mandolins and banjos, the band's abstract compositions of late again revert to their core sound of machine-gun rhythms and dark, full-throttle compositions that barely meet the minimum criteria for melody.
Concise yet dirty, ANIMOSITISOMINA is a refreshing slap in the face and will remind fans of why they were attracted to the creations of Ministry to begin with, as well as respect for musicians who play at the level of factory machines.

Their latest release, ANIMOSITISOMINA, is clearly in the metal category and is, alas, better forgotten.
ANIMOSITISOMINA isn't going to win Ministry any new fans, and will undoubtedly erode the fan base they do have, at least to some extent.
This CD may have been consider a good career move in light of the reported "death" of the superstar DJ Scene, but if the guys are looking to jump genres they might try a different one next time.

With Animositisomina ("animosity" slightly manicured and mirrored, hence twice the hate), Al Jourgenson and Paul Baker have once again harnessed the rigid rage of their unrelenting mechanisms to generate grinding riffs and galloping percussion, delivering a torrent of impact wounds with brutal ProTools precision.
Re-injecting punishing bite into the band's vitriolic bark, Animositisomina is Ministry's finest hour in a decade -- and the first album to achieve near the power of their live show since the group's 1992 benchmark, Psalm 69.
With Animositisomina, the prophets of industrial metal have instilled renewed faith in all followers.

The Austin Chronicle Music: Review - Ministry
Animositisomina (Sanctuary) Whenever a notoriously drug-infested musician cleans up, it's worth listening to the before-and-after output for comparative value.
Animositisomina is the first recording of Al Jourgensen's since his public proclamations of being sober.
It's almost as if Jourgensen and Barker are strangers in the studio, and that's a damn shame given the incredible output and influence their musical partnership has produced over the years.

 Ink 19 :: Ministry
Maybe that's what makes Animositisomina (yeah, the title's idiotic) so refreshing: Ministry have simplified things somewhat and, instead of trying to extend that thread for the sake of it, they've gone with what feels right.
In essence, Ministry are doing (and have always done) the things that make heavy metal and industrial rock seem ridiculous and clichéd to 99% of the population, but (unlike most of their peers) they pull it off.
Animositisomina is big, expansive heavy rock that somehow manages to sound fresh, and surprisingly contemporary.

Long after industrial landmarks such as "The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste" and "Psalm 69", their glory days seemed to be over.
"Animositisomina" is one hell of an album, leaving the second generation of industrial rockers behind, biting the dust.
"Animositisomina" is also a wonder of craftsmanship in chords, samples and production.

The harrowing sonic abuse meted out by Animositisomina confirms that crippling drug addiction, waning commercial fortunes, and the onset of middle age have enabled Ministry's screamer-songwriter Al Jourgensen's rage.
Animositisomina bursts forth from the gate with "Animosity," a punishing diatribe against intolerance that welds mind-numbingly forceful shards of sound with unholy--and utterly disturbing--slashes of pure noise.
Throughout, Animositisomina throws down a jet-fl wall of sound unlike any Phil Spector could have imagined, with one exception: a scorching cover of the Magazine classic, "The Light Pours Out of Me," which the group brutalizes with way-fast percussion, but otherwise (and somewhat curiously) leaves intact.

Needless to say, you won’t be putting this track, or any of Animositisomina, on as background music for reading a novel or sipping a glass of wine.
All of the songs on Animositisomina seem to blend into a massive wall of sound, except for one track that sticks out like a sore thumb with its weak sound and goofy chorus.
Ministry’s Animositisomina will be a must-have, even though it’s not the most successful or groundbreaking album, it’s all they have on DVD-Audio for now, apart from their live album Shpinctour.

 REVIEW: Ministry - "Animositisomina"
Animositisomina doesn't ooze far from the metal mold Ministry forged with A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste back in 1989: studio-tailored heavy metal guitars, pounding drums, fuzzy/noisy electronics and angry/acerbic lyrics.
The most substantial change that comes with Animositisomina is for the first time you can consistently understand Jourgensen's vocals - shocking, but true, and really a change for the better.
Animositisomina ends with Leper, a classic Ministry instrumental dirge - over 9 minutes of crispy-fried electronic hiss, daze-inducing bass loops, manic keyboard solos melting into and concluding with crushing guitars and brutal percussion.

 Ministry - Animositisomina DualDisc Review
Ministry gives us Animositisomina, which continues pretty much right along where you thought Ministry was headed.
Using guttural vocals and pounding guitars with cold-cocked hooks, the self-proclaimed forefathers of industrial metal, Paul Barker and Al Jourgensen, have continued here to try to capitalize on their reputation for musical and technological fury.
With a built-in phono section, the ability to Re-Master CD sound to 192 kHz/24-bit, advanced Room-2 functionality; three wide-bandwidth component video inputs for switching Hi Def TV and two remote controls, the P-965 has the capability to satisfy today’s most ardent and advanced audiophile.

Animositisomina (Animosity spelt both forwards and backwards, minus the 'Y') opens with 'Animosity', and the commitment from the band is blatantly evident.
Al's determined effort to sing with clarity is noticeable, and the track itself seems to be based on a singular riff, rather than percussion based.
Animositisomina is a huge return to form from Ministry, and will surely see placed back on the pedestal from where they fell from some time ago.

Longtime Ministry admirers will be glad to know that all those qualities are firmly in place on ANIMOSITISOMINA, an album that finds Ministry not wavering an inch after 20 years of recording.
Naturally, this formula doesn't allow for a lot of variety, but Al Jourgensen and crew are simply committed to delivering the most unwaveringly heavy and intense music this side of death metal.
Animositisomina has got to be one of the most raw album I have ever heard and Ministry's heaviest, but it is not Ministry's best, I recommend "The Mind is a Terrible thing to Taste" way more than this album.

Since the huge metal-indus turn of "The Mind Is a Terrible Thing To Taste" in 1991, the Jourgensen/Barker duo continues its exploration of the different facets of a sound that has become a reference for numerous bands, never giving in to the temptation of a comfortable self-imitation.
With these ten tracks crushed under the eternal guitars of the duo (Lockbox), rhythmed by overwhelming drums (Piss) and lacerated by the saturated shouts of Al Jourgensen (Stolen), the Ministry trademark formula is at its most efficient.

After 1992's Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs, though, the band disintegrated around leader Alain Jourgensen, and Ministry limped through the rest of the '90s with a pair of desultory, deliberately difficult records, Filth Pig and The Dark Side of the Spoon.
Animositisomina nods to the group's new wave past with a cover of Magazine's "The Light Pours out of Me," and occasionally inspires vocal and melodic comparisons to Jane's Addiction, the band's rivals (and polar opposites) in the alternative metal scene of the late '80s.
Still dour and humorless, but pruned of its experimental tendencies, Ministry delivered its first solid record in a decade.

Animositisomina is another winner -- coupled with the religious iconography and slaughtered lambs on its cover, the palindromic handle is a succinctly eloquent metaphor for the vicious cycle of religious hatred.
