Anisian - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the geologic timescale, the Anisian is the age of the Middle Triassic epoch of the Triassic period of the Mesozoic era of the Fanerozoic eon that is comprehended between 245 million and 237 million years ago, approximately.
The Anisian age succeeds the Olenekian age of the Lower Triassic epoch of its own period and precedes the Ladinian age of the Middle Triassic epoch.
The earliest dinosaurs to date have been found in rock dating from the Anisian Age.

The spring issues from lower Anisian dolomite at the bottom of Nyavalyas slope in the southern side of Garadna valley, in the proximity of the northwest corner of proposed quarry site, which commences immediately west of the entrance to Tekenős valley.
Tracer tests indicate that Margit spring is not connected hydrologically to the area of extensive limestone of upper Anisian age situated further south of the proposed mining area.
Six tracer tests have outlined the catchments within the area of upper Anisian limestone formation of the Bukk Greater Plateau, which provides the bulk yield of the spring.

the Olenekian - Anisian boundary, is characterized by conodont zonation: the last occurrence of Neospathodus homeri and N.
Another indicator is a magnetostratigraphic shift from reversing polarity in the Late Olenekian to a long normal zone in the Early Anisian.
For example, East Asian radiolarian protists also show an extinction at the end-Permian, a depauperate population until the Late Olenekian, a Late Olenekian transitional community, and a characteristic Mesozoic community at the beginning of the Anisian.

DORASHAMIAN, INDUAN, OLENEKIAN, ANISIAN, LADINIAN, CARNIAN, NORIAN AND RHAETIAN CARBONATES OF RUSSIA:
Abundance and high taxonomic diversity of the Albaillellaria from lower Dorashamian cherts of the Pantovyj and Skalistyj Creek basins and Amba Mount area (Sikhote-Alin) and from conteporaneous flyschoid strata of the Orel Mount area (South Primorye) seem to be caused by optimal temperature conditions.
It is possible that appearance of the polysegmental Nassellaria was related to the Anisian warmth and transgression, although the spherical Spumellaria, as was recently recognized in North Caucasus (Kapustina and Svinyach'ya Ravine, Mamryuk, Rufabgo) and South Primorye (Abrek Bay), was a dominant group among the microfossils in both Induan-Olenekian strata and during the Olenekian-Anisian transition.

The collision did not create major topographic reliefs and the sedimentation remained marine in most areas, except for the Talea Ori and Trypali units where a regional (Schytian to Norian) unconformity is observed.
The Paleotethys slab detachment could be synchronous with the collision and it may be the cause for the widespread alkaline volcanism that occurred from Anisian to Carnian in the Internal Hellenides.
At the northern margin of Pelagonia the passive margin evolution was well recorded by the sedimentary sequence found in Evia, Hydra and the Maliac-Othrys units.

Archosauromorph reptiles – especially archosaurs – progressively replaced the synapsids that had dominated the Permian.
Although Cynognathus was a characteristic top predator in earlier Triassic (Olenekian and Anisian) Gondwana, and both Kannemeyeriid dicynodonts and gomphodont cynodonts remained important herbivores during much of the period, by the end of the Triassic, synapsids played only bit parts.
During the Carnian (early part of the Late Triassic), some advanced cynodont gave rise to the first mammals.

The oldest comparable reefs known from western Tethys are Bithynian-Pelsonian (Anisian).
Rather, reef development resulted largely from the stabilization and cementation of platform margin sediments by algae and associated microbial mats indicating a decoupling of the return of cemented reefs on platform margins from the recovery of framework-building metazoans following the end-Permian extinction.
The importance of Tubiphytes framework in Anisian reefs may reflect a physiological adjustment of algae and microbial communities to environmental change more rapid than the evolutionary response of metazoans.

constricta in the Halfway Formation at 1703 m in well 00/10-18-079-12W6 indicates an uppermost Anisian to Early Ladinian age which is a relatively old age for the unit.
This finding raises a question as to whether the Doig and Halfway formations should be considered as two different formations or are they simply a series of diachronous facies terms.

The fossils imaged here came an isolated outcrop of the Middle Triassic Prida Formation in Nevada on Public Lands (at least at the last time of collecting the site resided on Bureau of Land Management-administered Public Lands).
As a matter of fact, the specific Prida Formation site referred to here yields one of the most complete middle Triassic ammonoid successions in the world; and many cephalopod specialists and paleontologists, in general, consider it the single best Middle Triassic, late Anisian Stage (roughly 235 million years old) ammonoid locality in existence.
Literally tons of ammonoid-bearing limestones have been removed from the site since its discovery by silver miners in the latter half of the 1800s; that well-preserved, identifiable fossils still occur there, after such concerted searching by hordes of avid ammonoid enthusiasts over many decades, is somewhat of a miracle.
