		The sudden and completely unexplained disappearance of their father, Datu Maktan, is the event that sets the stage for Anito.
		However, ANITOs in the game are particularly rare and much sought after relics that are rumored to give their owners particular powers and a connection to the land itself.
		Anito offers two unique points of view for the same story - each character, for example, starts in a different town and has unique quests not available for the other character; the player can choose a character at the start of the game.

		Tonight, I have nothing new to blog about so I'll just point to our Anito postmortem from IGN's RPGVault (which came out a few months ago) so that you game dev types can take a peek at how we did our game development.
		We were supposed to have an Anito review from IGN itself and in fact had given one of its reviewers a copy of the game (which he rather liked!), but the condition that his editor gave - that Anito have a retail presence in the US - was never fulfilled.
		Right now, I'm pretty convinced that a game programmers (and especially their team lead!) should have a solid idea of managing the whole software development life cycle before plunging into a full-blown project.
