		Between 1999 and 2002 MC MABON recorded and released three highly acclaimed albums for ankstmusik records (MR BLAIDD (2000), THE HUNT FOR MEANING (2001) and NIA NON (2002) ) which were all praised for their undoubted originality and wide musical vision.
		At the same time as recording these albums Gruff Meredith was also engaged in putting across another musical side to MC Mabon through the recording of radio sessions for the likes of John Peel and Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Radio Wales's Adam Walton and the Welsh language Radio Cymru.

		Adams' brother Gary Husband was swiftly recruited on drums and friend Carys Jones on keyboards.
		After releasing two EP's with local label Ankstmusik the group was signed to Pinnacle Records releasing their first album Rumours and Curses in 1998.
		Unfortunately their relations with Pinnacle, always strained, fell apart completely when that label went bankrupt at the end of the year.

		Following a successful premiere at the Cardiff Screen Festival at the end of 2005 (where the film won the runner up prize for the Audience Award), Ankstmusik are now starting to show the film 'Y LLEILL' (The Others) to the public in cinemas across Wales.
		The film is shown with English subtitles at Galeri Cinema on Saturday 21 January at 7.30pm and at the Drum Cinema, National Library, Aberystwyth on Monday 13 February at 7.30pm.
		Y LEILL was made with the express intention of trying to find an audience for 'Welsh cinema' and to prove that it is possible to produce small scale films that can engage with such an audience.

		The earlier Ectogram album, All Behind The Witchtower, was a little like Sonic Youth re-recording the soundtrack to The Wicker Man. Here this trio take things further, with what surely amounts to an alt-rock take on Harken To The Witches Rune, the pagan album once recorded by BBC children's TV presenter Toni Arthur.
		Tall Things Falling, then, often resembles a soggy indie misunderstanding of Faust, further dogged by the breathy sing-song vocals of Ann Matthews - a kind of Clare Grogan for the free festival set.
