Secondly, were she to find herself in those countries could we assume that she would also adhere to the local customs and conventions of the land in terms of dress and wear the odd shalwar kameez or sari, and perhaps even indulge in the wearing of the occasional burkha if the need arose.
And if Ann Cryer is concerned about the level of literacy and educational/academic achievement in the Pakistani (in particular) community perhaps she should try and get out into said communities and meet them.
I could easily arrange for Ann Cryer to meet a childhood friend of similar second generation, British Muslim Pakistani origin and her siblings (and their spouses) which consist of two doctors (both Pakistani women), a barrister, a chemist (again a Pakistani woman), a post graduate businessman, and an accountant.

I wrote to John and Ann Cryer, told them that Helen and I had inspected the tree, decided that it is now too big for us to contemplate removing, and suggested that we plant another memorial tree for Bob.
