John McLaughlin (born 29 March 1927 -) is the creator, executive producer, and host of The McLaughlin Group, weekly public affairs television program in the United States since 1982, where a group of five commentators discuss current political issues, and McLaughlin's One on One an interview program.
Ann Dore McLaughlin served as Secretary of Labor under Ronald Reagan from 1987 until 1989.
McLaughlin is fond of making witty predictions based on current events, and of asking questions in absurd ways.

During the Reagan administration, she was assistant secretary for public affairs for the Department of the Treasury (1981-1984), undersecretary of the interior (1984-1987), and manager of Senator Robert Dole's 1987 presidential bid.
McLaughlin returned to government work as secretary of labor (1987-1989).

In his mid-forties, this long-haired Jesuit priest ran unsuccessfully (as a Republican against the Vietnam War) for the U.S. Senate from Rhode Island in 1970, but eventually wound up marrying his campaign manager, Ann Dore.
