  Ramor United - Match report
Ramor United (Virginia/Maghera) captured the Cavan senior football championship title for the first time in their brief three year existence when they easily brushed past the challange of West Cavan hopefuls, Woodford Gaels (Templeport/Kildallan) to win a disappointing final by 1-11 to 0-7 at Breffni park last Sunday.
Ramor United came into existence in 1971, but while they had to wait three years for ultimate success it was worth waiting for and the manner of their victory suggests that they are a team still to reach their potential.
The fact that Ramor United had the benefit of playing in last year's final was a tremendous psychological boost to their prospects and was a factor in their favour which eventually helped them to victory.

Annagh United pushed Loughgall all the way in a tough pre-season game in Portadown - and will feel unfortunate to have been beaten after having led twice.
Despite there being a number of former Loughgall players in the Annagh team, there was a strong physical element to the game and challenges were uncompromising.
Nesbitt was at the hub of United's best chances and it took a brave diving save at his feet from Robinson to prevent the Second Division side taking the lead while, at the other end, Currie made a fine stop when left one-on-one with striker Stevie Coulter.

Annagh really should have taken the lead after just 80 seconds, when Johnny McAdam broke through the Bangor defence and fire a shot in at goal.
A minute before the break Annagh keeper had to be alert to tip over a header from one of his own defenders after a long throw in from Keith McCrea had caused havoc in the Annagh defence.
Annagh certainly put in a spirited performance on their first visit to Clandeboye and can perhaps feel unlucky to leave with no points.

Playing only their fifth league game this season Lurgan Celtic travelled the short distance to Annagh United full of confidence following several good performances in recent cup competitions.
But the killer blow came with only 15 minutes left when Annagh United scored from their first corner of the game.
Having won their three previous league games it is of utmost importance to get back to winning way sooner rather than later to keep the early pace-setters within sight.
