A spokesperson for the theatre confirmed that Golden will play the Fairy Godmother in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, which will be presented at the Massachusetts theatre July 5-24.
Annie Golden made her Broadway debut in the 1977 production of Hair at the Biltmore Theatre and recently took part in the all-star Hair concert to benefit the Actors' Fund of America.

Golden (currently in The Full Monty) is one of my favorite singers on the theatre scene today--her voice is a tiny, high, gleaming belt that can sound like a little girl or a grown woman at will.
She has the face of a little girl, too, which makes her just as remarkable to look at now that she's in her forties.
