This novella was later expanded into the novel Anno Dracula and covered the same events.

Dracula - Bram Stoker Free Classic eBooks Science Fiction Review
Dracula has even been adapted into children's literature and entertainment, serving as the basis for several vampire cartoon characters over the years.
Dracula (or at least his portrayal by Bela Lugosi) is the basis for the Muppet character named Count Von Count on Sesame Street.
Dracula also has the ability to travel as a mist and to scale the external walls of his castle.

 Anno Dracula: The Background
I didn't especially want to do a direct sequel, since the last chapter of Anno Dracula more or less indicates what is about to happen in the country and how our main characters will be involved in it.
Steve's request prompted me finally to set down the parameters for Anno Dracula, in that I felt a mammoth book of vampires should have some showing from the king of the un-dead.
The result was 'Red Reign', which first appeared in Steve's book and is the bare skeleton of Anno Dracula.

Locus Online: Review by Claude Lalumière
Newman has also written some Anno Dracula short fiction, most of which takes place after the third novel; these stories are supposed to be collected in the forthcoming (but as yet unscheduled) Johnny Alucard.
Although reading the entire Anno Dracula canon gives a greater sense of history, each installment is written to stand on its own, each telling a complete story and having discrete concerns that are explored and resolved within each respective text.
This is a new installment in the Anno Dracula sequence, featuring Newman's sympathetic vampire heroine Geneviève Dieudonné.

"Besides the three novels, the Anno Dracula series includes 'Coppola's Dracula,' a novella published in Stephen Jones's The Mammoth Book of Dracula (and his The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror: 1998, and available on the web at the Infinity Plus site).

Further volumes in the The Anno Dracula series include The Bloody Red Baron, and Dracula Cha Cha Cha, as well as several short stories.
In 1992, with the publication of Anno Dracula, Kim was well and truly brought to the attention of the public.
The book's premise is that Dracula did not die, but turned Queen Victoria and much of her royal court and the political elite into vampires.

 Too Clever by Half?
The project of the Anno Dracula series has been to explore as many of the metaphorical or literal meanings of vampirism, and the figure of Dracula, as is possible.
Also due immediately is Andy Warhol's Dracula, a chapbook novella which fits into the Anno Dracula series after `Coppola's Dracula', and will be a chunk of a novel I might do next called Johnny Alucard, set in Hollywood in the 70s and 80s.
I've done scripts from my novels The Quorum and Anno Dracula and the story `The Original Dr Shade', but they seem stuck in development limbo.

Books & Literature : Judgement of Tears: Anno Dracula 1959
Newman's third book in the ANNO DRACULA series is arefreshingly light look at post-WWII Italy in his alternate universewhere Dracula (after having ruled England as Queen Victoria's PrinceConsort from 1885-88, then acted as Kaiser Wilhelm's chief militarystrategist during WWI) has retired in semi-exile to a large castlejust outside of Rome.
If the answer is yes or even 'well maybe' to any of the above questions, then check out Newman's Anno Dracula stuff.

Fantasy Encyclopedia Updates, Q to T
In Twilight Zone: The Movie three of the four segments were remakes of series scripts, while in the new series only 4 out of over 150 segments derived from original series scripts.
Only recently have there emerged series that seem related to genre fantasy, beginning with Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and now including Xena, Warrior Princess, Sinbad, Conan and Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, which will have separate entries in future editions.
Both the Chronicles of the High Inquest series and the Aquiliad series are of greater fantasy interest than is implied here.

Another interesting facet of Newman`s series is how Dracula himself is presented in each book.
`In that case, I suppose I felt we had to have the Frankenstein Monster appear somehow, and I decided to go with the lumbering minion rather than the suffering antihero because this is, after all, a Dracula series, and so he should be on the level of Glenn Strange rather than Karloff.

"Judgement Of Tears" is no exception to this and as well as Dracula himself, who makes an all too brief appearance (perhaps my only critiscism of all the novels) we see a return for Charles Beauregard, Genevieve Duedonne and Kate Reed.
Each one is different in tone and introduces new characters, and yet each is completely connected to the other with some returning characters who actually grow and change as a result of what they face.
There are sly references to other characters from the late fifties/early sixties which I won't spoil, they are all handled well and you instantly know who they are.

Carr also reveals that his nickname was Mycroft, which he hated (Series of 23 novels by John Dickson Carr under the name Carter Dickson).
Of course there is no reason not to assume that all of them could have taken on the position during that time for a five to ten year period but without any confirming evidence one way or the other, I honestly cannot comment.

Michael Romkey's series about the Illuminati includes I, Vampire, The Vampire Papers, The Vampire Princess, The Vampire Virus, The Vampire Hunter, and just released London Vampire Panic.

Deservedly one of Kim's most famous books - it's an alternate reality Horror novel in which Dracula survives his tangles with Van Helsing and returns to London to seek his revenge: by marrying Queen Victoria and turning a large percentage of the English population into undead.
