The main focus of the inductionist is the object, as they argue that in order to gain maximum knowledge one must identify with the object as much as possible and at the same time observe and categorize (see for example Glaser and Strauss, 1967).
The subjectivist, on the other hand, does not consider data as given, nor does she view the object as with a status of its own.
