 Ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol. III
The great Gallican, Launoy, doctor of the Sorbonne, has proved that the Fathers understand the Rock to be Christ, while, only rarely, and that rhetorically, not dogmatically, St. Peter is called a stone or a rock; a usage to which neither Luther nor Calvin could object.
It is important, also, to note that the primacy of St. Peter, more or less, whatever it may have been in the mind of the Fathers, was wholly personal, in their view.Of the fables which make it hereditary and a purtenance of Rome they knew nothing.
Tertullian himself, when he speaks dogmatically, is in accord with other Fathers, and gives no countenance to the modern doctrine of Rome.

Wisdom and Son Christology are the cornerstones of Nicene orthodoxy, as is the fatherhood of the Father.
Among the Greek Fathers the unity of God, the one God, and the ontological 'principle' or 'cause' of the being and life of God does not consist in the one substance of God but in the hypostasis, that is, the person of the Father.
That is, on the father-ness of the Father and the Son-ness of the Son.

 The Church Fathers - ReligionFacts
These writers are known as the "Apostolic Fathers" for their close connection with the apostles, and include Clement of Rome, Ignatius, Hermas, Polycarp and Papias, as well as the unknown authors of the Epistle of Barnabas, the Epistle of Diognetus, 2 Clement, and the Didache.
Thus the church fathers from the fourth century onward were focused especially on the defense of what they saw as the true Christian faith (orthodoxy) against corruptions or misunderstandings (heresy).
The church fathers are of great importance to Christianity because they formulated nearly all of the Christian doctrine that is accepted by Christians today.

THE CONFLICT OF AGES (page 2 – 16-30)
The attempt of the Nicene Fathers working together with the secular authority of the Roman state to create a Christian nation was in reality the materialization of Platos dreamed Republic.
Luther continued the theology of the post-Nicene Fathers, having abolished the distinction between the divine and secular by stating that service to the state is service to God.
It was especially the church fathers of the post-Nicene era that promoted the necessity of Christians to support the secular authority with military service.

Segen--The Works of the Early Church Fathers
Volumes 1-9 contain the works of the Ante-Nicene Fathers, dating from the first generation after the original disciples to about 325 A.D. These disciples are confessedly inferior to their masters; they speak with the voices of infirm and fallible men, and not like the New-Testament writers, with the fiery tongues of the Holy Ghost.
Written before the Canon was established, when Scripture was scarce and difficult to come by, the works of the Anti-Nicene Fathers offered itself as a means to defend the Christian faith, to record the martyrdom of the early Christian church body, and to stand as monuments to the power of the Gospel.
Their writings offered guidance and assurance to early Christians whose faith was not only doctrinally challenged, but who often incurred persecution and even martyrdom.

It is LDS teaching that all the Father's children possess the potential to strive toward the same godhood that the Godhead already has; because in their humanity there is a divinity that is progressing and growing according to the faith, intelligence, and love that abound in their souls.
Besides, the generation of the Son by the Father is incomprehensible and ineffable; and because it is spiritual, its investigation becomes impracticable: for a spiritual object can neither be understood nor traced by a corporeal object, for that is far removed from human nature.

 Trinity
Prior to this, as already noted in the discussion on the Ante-Nicene Fathers, Christians held to the view that God is a Trinity which consists of three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
By claiming that these Fathers taught Watchtower doctrine, the Society maintains that although historic Christianity possessed pure doctrine at the time of the apostles, within four centuries, Christianity adopted "pagan" doctrines such as the doctrine of the Trinity.
Arius' heresy struck at the very heart of this doctrine; for by insisting that Jesus had to be created, he was teaching that Jesus could not be the one true God, but was rather an inferior god who was in some sense only "divine".

The fathers had their share of errors, clearly showing “that paganism was infecting the most faithful segments of the church.” All the Ante-Nicene fathers could probably be considered Gonstics in terms of God's Word: The early fathers many times confused grace and faith, and failed to properly understand and develop God's sovereignty.
Reading any of the Ante-Nicene Fathers' material, one cannot help but be impressed with the abundance of Scripture, particularly Old Testament, these men used to counter the false teachings of their day.

Here it must be noted, however, that the primitive Fathers never speak of the episcopate as a development of the presbyterate, as do the Middle-Age writers and the schoolmen.

The schism which withdrew the West from Communion with the original seats of Christendom, and from Nicene Catholicity, was formidable beyond all expression, in comparison with Tertullian's entanglements with a delusion which the See of Rome itself had momentarily patronized.
When He accepted her faith and caused it to be recorded for our learning, He did something more: He reversed the curse of the Canaanite and showed that the Church was designed "for all people;" Catholic alike for all time and for all sorts and conditions of men.

Catholics may be able to prove succession, but the contrariety of their doctrines when compared to Sacred Scripture and the guidance of the Ante-Nicene Fathers shows them to be in error at best, and most likely heretical.
Let us look again to Tertullian, who writes," But if there be any (heresies)which are bold enough to plant (their origin) in the midst of the apostolic age, that they may thereby seem to have been handed down to them by the Apostles....we can say; let them produce the original records of their churches.
