Antelope is an unincorporated area of Sacramento County, California, USA located approximately 18 miles (29 km) northeast of downtown Sacramento and 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Roseville.
Ronald Reagan declared a state of emergency for the surrounding area, but Antelope was reduced to charred wood and concrete slabs.
By 1993 the residents of the area voted to be recognized as a community recognized by the county and with their own ZIP Code (95843) which became effective July 1, 1994.

This 1,745 acre (7 km²) State Reserve, nestled in the Antelope Buttes 15 miles (24 km) west of downtown Lancaster, is located on California's most consistent poppy-bearing land.
The reserve is located 15 miles (24 km) west of the Antelope Valley Freeway (California State Route 14) on Lancaster Road near the city of Lancaster.

The arrival of spring always means wildflowers in California's Antelope Valley, the broad plateau between the Tehachapi and San Gabriel Mountains about 70 miles north of Los Angeles.
This year, the record rain storms in southern California have caused mudslides, but they have also fueled once in a lifetime displays of wildflowers in Death Valley and an intense bloom of California poppies.
It rapidly became apparent that A LOT of water had been flowing down the dirt roads in recent weeks, as we slowed to gingerly cross the ruts and wash-outs in the roadway.
