AntonBurg, 99, once the world’s leading expert on boron and the father of chemistry at USC, died Nov. 18 at his home near the USC campus in Los Angeles.
Chemist Arthur Adamson, another of Burg’s hires who died on July 22, 2003 at the age of 83, recalled that the university’s president was surprised by the changes in the department.
Anton Behme Burg was born Oct. 18, 1904, in Dallas City, Ill., the grandson of a German immigrant who made a fortune building carriages.
Frederick Von Burg, a teacher in the Levittown School District for over 31 years, recently released his new novel Keep My White Sneakers, Kit Carson, which is aimed at young adults aged 14-18.
According to Von Burg, who is a resident of Syosset, high school physics students are very familiar with the Van De Graaf generator, an instrument that generates static electricity.
Von Burg also gained a great deal of knowledge regarding what teens enjoy reading and based the story and the cover of the book on that information.
Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg
Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg, known universally as Paul von Hindenburg (2 October 1847 – 2 August 1934) was a German Field Marshal and statesman.
An important figure during World War I, he also served as President of Germany from 1925 – 1934.
And then there are the fine performances from Moira Shearer, impossibly lovely as the heroine, and Anton Walbrook as her dashing but fearsome Svengali.
It's not hard to understand why: Michael Powell and Emerich Pressburger's dark fairy tale presents the ballet as an exquisite, magical work of art; but under the theatrics and glory is an all-consuming lifestyle with the power to destroy those who love it perhaps too much.
Meanwhile, a gifted young composer, Julian Craster (Marius Goring), is brought on board as an orchestra coach, and later conductor and composer of the ballet that will make Vicky's name: The Red Shoes, one of the most beautiful and dramatic dances ever captured on film.
Because of her effort to become younger and younger and to remain forever young she had killed a lot of young girls and she had bathed then in their blood.
No doubt that the next important cultural monument is the Parish Church of St Ladislav from the year 1373 with stone fortress and Gothic Chapel of St Anton Padovský.
The Stone bridge to the church is a rare and unique monument of mediaeval church architecture in the Slovak Republic.

Schlesinger and Burgs, in studying the reaction described by equation 1, had little difficulty in consistently obtaining 1 equivalent of hydrogen per mole of diborane.
The first is classical formulation of Schlesinger and Burg, whereas the *An interval somewhere between 1 and 4-1/2 weeks may be adequate; 4-1/2 weeks was simply a matter of experimental convenience in this case.
Molecular-weight determinations of the diammoniate of diborane were made using a representative portion of a large sample of the diammnoniate *Burg and Schlesinger34 postulate that the diammoniate changes at -500C according to the reaction NH4 BE3.2NBh0 + 213 2N -4 BH3N2E 34, Schlesinger, H. Advances in Boron and the Boranes Edited by Joel F. Liebman Arthur Greenberg Robert E. Williams This volume, coedited with R. Williams of the Loker Research Institute of the University of Southern California, is a collection of interwoven essays in homage to Professor Anton B. Burg, a pioneer of modern inorganic chemistry.
This then is one of the ways to select a rich new research area that can lead to the Nobel.
It was suggested by Professor Schlesinger and his Research Assistant, Anton B. Burg, that I explore the reaction of diborane with aldehydes, ketones and esters.
The next year, 1939, Anton B. Burg left for the University of Southern California and Professor Schlesinger asked me to become his research assistant with the rank of Instructor.
The memorial service for Harriet Burg Carder will be at 3 p.m.
She was born Harriet Burg on Sept. 28, 1902, in Dallas City, Ill.
Survivors include a son, Alan, Brawley, Calif.; a daughter, Laura Carder, Anaheim, Calif.; a stepson; a brother, AntonBurg, and a sister, Margaret Dauer, both in Southern California.
All went well until about 1948, when the plant was cleaned and washed out with carbon tetrachloride, not realizing that carbon tetrachloride and decaborane form an explosive mixture equivalent to nitroglycerin.
AntonBurg at USC had warned them that this might happen.
They did it nonetheless. That didn't change things and the rocket program went ahead.
Professor M.S. Kharasch then offered me a position as a postdoctorate at a stipend of $1600 and my academic career was initiated.
The following year Professor Schlesinger invited me to become his research assistant with the rank of Instructor, replacing Anton B. Burg, who was moving on to the University of Southern California.
Consequently, I am an unusual example of a chemist who ended up in academic work because he could not find an industrial position.
