		Anvil Vapre, released as prelude to their third LP, saw Rob and Sean in abrasive mood, producing four tracks of dark, distorted rhythms, phase-shifting loops and drifting fragments of melody.
		The linearity of their albums had always been counterbalanced by the more experimental edge of their singles, but this was Autechre at their most extreme: a singular journey into the hinterlands of brutal beauty; a trek no-one had made before.
		The reaction to Autechre's third album, released in the smoking vapour trail of Anvil Vapre, in October, was unanimously ecstatic.

		For those not familiar with Autechre's arguably definitive release, industrial sounds and rhythms were meshed with electro melodies and beats resulting in a more fuller sound than some of Autechre's later releases.
		Anvil Vapre is a continuation of Tri Repetae with four remarkable tracks including Second Bad Vilbel that had a memorable video made by Chris Cunningham that aired on MTV via the program, Amp.
		Anvil Vapre was included in the US edition of Tri Repeatae on a second CD along with another EP mistitled Garbage.

		Disc 2 was the US Release on Wax Trax!, while only Disc 1 was released on Warp.
		It included the Anvil Vapre EP and Garbage EP's.
		If we are talking about Disc 2, Vletrmx21 is my favorite Autechre track of all time.
