The Aon Center is a modernist office skyscraper located at 707 Wilshire Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles, California.
It remained the tallest building in Los Angeles until 1989 when the Library Tower (now the U.S. Bank Tower) was completed.

 Charles Luckman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Charles Luckman (1909 Kansas City–January 26, 1999 Los Angeles) was a businessman and an American architect, famous as the "Boy Wonder of American Business" when he was named president of the Pepsodent toothpaste company in 1939 at the age of thirty.
Reminded of his architectural roots, Luckman resigned the presidency of Lever Brothers, moved to Los Angeles and began practicing architecture with fellow University of Illinois graduate William Pereira c1950.
Luckman's firm went on to design the Prudential Center in Boston, the new Madison Square Garden in New York City, Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Aon Center in Los Angeles, and the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston.

The top of the Transamerica pyramid is covered with aluminum panels and during the Christmas Holiday Season, Thanksgiving, and 4th of July a bright, white light is lit on top of the pyramid.
The Transamerica Pyramid was the tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi from 1972-1974, at which point it was surpassed, somewhat ironically, by the Aon Center in Los Angeles - designed by Pereira's former business partner Charles Luckman.
The building is considered to have been the target of a terrorist attack, involving the hijacking of airplanes as part of Oplan Bojinka, which was foiled in 1995.

(hopefully, the corner office weren't omitted for the same reason as the Aon building in Chicago, which was due to petty egoism among execs, who wouldn't stop fighting over who got which corner office)
