APIA has participated in community events, such as the celebration of the Lunar New Year at Chinese Cultural Center in Phoenix, the ALOHA Festival in downtown Phoenix, The Vietnamese Community in Arizona, the Moon Festival in Tempe, and other cultural events.
In addition, APIA held scholarship fund raising banquets, receptions for the MCCD leaders and supporters, for the Chinese Delegation, and for the community leaders of Asian and Pacific Islander in Maricopa County.

Apia, population 38,800 (2001), is the capital of Samoa.
Apia (13°50′ S 171°50′ W) is situated on a natural harbour at the mouth of the Vaisigano river.

The APIA said it would relaunch its campaign against over-regulation of the gas transmission industry, highlighting what it described at the hindrance of infrastructure investment by competition watchdog, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
The move by the APIA follows a decision on Friday by the Australian Competition Tribunal to value the Moomba-to-Sydney pipeline at more than its owners and the ACCC did.
APIA chief executive Cheryl Cartwright said the tribunal's decision further demonstrated the ACCC's poor understanding of infrastructure valuation and investment and proved that regulation of gas pipelines was an unnecessary restriction on the industry.
