Topic: Apollo moon landing conspiracy theory

Apollo moon landing hoax accusations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The landing hoax proponents believe that the Moon landings of Apollo 11 on July 20, 1969 and subsequent missions never happened, but were faked on Earth.
The Soviets, with their own competing moon program and an intense economic, political and military rivalry with the USA, could be expected to have cried foul if the USA tried to fake a Moon landing.
Conspiracy theorist Ralph Rene responds that shortly after the alleged Moon landings, the USA silently started shipping hundreds of thousands of tons of grain as humanitarian aid to the allegedly starving USSR.

The UnMuseum - The Great Moon Hoax
People who are skeptical of the moon landing point out that even though the sky in all the moon pictures is fl, as it should be if there is no atmosphere on the moon (and there isn't), no stars can be seen.
The light levels during the landings were probably similar to those in a western desert in the morning, bright enough to warrant sunglasses, or in the case of the astronauts, sunvisors on their spacesuits.
Skeptics of the moon landing argue that an astronaut would get a lethal dose of radiation if he were to pass through the belts on the way to the moon.

The Moon Hoax advocates also seem to have forgotten that they are basing most of their "analysis" on press release photos, which are invariably cleaned up before release to the press.
Moon Hoax advocates argue that this is proof of a large light source (a stage flood or a spot, again) positioned very close to the astronauts.
Below is an Apollo 17 picture (on the left) of a large boulder, with the Earth in the background, taken by an astronaut with a hand held Hassleblad 70mm camera (the same camera which took the photograph of Gene Cernan, with the flag and Earth, above).

Comments on the FOX special on the Hoax
The hoax proponents exaggerate the thrust level of the engine during landing, claiming that it fires with a thrust of 10,000 pounds when in fact, the engine was throttled and only had to fire at a thrust level that nearly balanced the 1/6 gravity weight of the LM at the moment of touchdown.
Before Apollo 11 took the Eagle all the way to the lunar surface, Apollo 9 tested the first manned LM in Earth orbit and Apollo 10 took the 2nd manned LM all the way to within about 50,000 feet of the surface of the moon in a nearly complete dress rehearsal of Apollo 11.
The most used image by the hoaxers is from Apollo 14 where the Lunar Module appears in the distance to be casting a horizontal shadow while the shadows of the rocks in the foreground are angled towards the camera.

The ParaFiles: Faked Moon Landing Conspiracy   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-20)
One of the greatest conspiracies of all time details the theory that NASA faked the Apollo moon landings on a movie soundstage in the Nevada desert.
landed on the moon, "immense UFOs lined up on the far side of the crater and monitored the astronauts." This story is a standard in UFO lore, and various accounts have Armstrong admitting, off the record, of course, that the place was crawling with alien goons.
Brian takes their tales as corroboration of his own notions: Hardly the lunar wasteland of NASA propaganda, the moon is actually rather pleasant, with a "saffron-colored sky," vegetation and animal life in certain temperate zones, snowcapped mountains covered with timber, lakes, rivers, alien "communities of varying sizes" and most certainly an anti-gravity monorail.

The Moon Landings Were NOT Faked
The original image (AS16-107-17446) as well as all of the color images from Apollo 16, have a purplish cast to them, indicating some problem with the entire batch of film, either in the source, the developing or in the environment they were exposed to during flight.
The lunar landings and following exploration was done when the sun was low, within a day or so of local sunrise at the landing site at the time of the landing, so that temperatures were actually quite moderate, even after a full 3 days on the lunar surface.
Apollo grew out of a cold war conflict over the minds and opinions of our technological prowess in the world and its eventual success was due to the hard work and sacrifice of literally 100's of thousands of people who built the Saturn V rocket and the Apollo spacecraft.

DARK MOON is an extensively researched and balanced assessment of the people and parallels within the USSR/USA space programs and an in-depth examination of the material regarded by NASA as proof that the named Apollo astronauts did indeed walk on the lunar surface.
Investigates why NASA chose to present the Apollo scenario with which we are all familiar, when research evidence suggests that a parallel operation was actually executed.
Demonstrates that lighting was used in the Apollo photographs-yet none was taken to the Moon, and shows that impossibly high photographic viewpoints were employed.

Redzero's Moonhoax - How Apollo moon landings really happened
It hopes to prove, without any doubt, that these theories are wrong and a combination of a poor understanding of basic science and a desire to make a fast buck.
Most of the theories that concern the photographs are due to a failure to understand how photography works.
In order to successfully land on the moon, NASA needed to either buy in the absolute latest in technology, or develop it themselves.

Was The Apollo Moon Landing Fake?
The book will deliver a point-by-point rebuttal of the theory that the Apollo landings were faked in a movie studio, to convince the world that the US had beaten the Soviets to the Moon.
The major point which has helped convince me that the moon landing was faked was the fact that when the control room asked a question to the Astronoughts the replies were instant with no delays.
But even before this, a set of conspiracy theories were spreading, the most radical of which claimed that NASA had faked all the lunar landings-that man in fact never landed on the moon.

This should easily resolve the 5-metre wide Lunar Module bases left on the Moon by the Apollo moon missions, and a group of European scientists intends to do just that to challenge the Apollo moon landing conspiracy theory.
