The Cambridge Apostles, also known as the Cambridge Conversazione Society, is an elite intellectual secret society at Cambridge University, founded in 1820 by George Tomlinson, a Cambridge student who went on to become the Bishop of Gibraltar.
The Apostles became well-known outside Cambridge in the years before the First World War with the rise to eminence of the group of intellectuals known as the Bloomsbury Group.

This is something I read about which really touches my heart and would make anyone marvel at the zeal and strong faith of the apostles and disciples of our Lord.
Matthias - the apostle chosen to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot, was stoned and then beheaded.
Perhaps that is also a reminder to us that our sufferrings here are indeed minor compared to the intense persecution and cold cruelty faced by the apostles/ disciples during their times for the sake of the Faith.

Among the highlights were nonverbal tower building, fantastic (and some not so fantastic) skits, sessions and reflection on each of the Beatitudes, Trust Walk, dancing, football, cards, etc. I am pretty sure that everyone arrived home sleep deprived, but that is the price we pay for a memorable weekend.
